Job Description

Role Purpose Manage the strategy engagement of market and opportunity assessments, market research, destination development strategies, and benchmarking in-line with the defined priorities and goals. Monitor and provide strategic direction on the conduction of market research and identification of potential new potential and future plans using best practices and effective methods. Key Responsibilities

Annual Plans and Performance Management Contribute to the development of the Market Assessments section annual business plan in order to ensure that section's activities and plans are aligned and congruent with the needs and plans of department.

Markets Assessments Manage and oversee the development and implementation of the strategic market assessments direction of the sector, including the vision, mission and values, in cooperation and coordination with the tourism senior management. Oversee and provide strategic advice for carrying out strategy engagement including and not limited to market and opportunity assessments, destination development strategies, benchmarking, feasibilities, business plan assessment and others in-line with the defined priorities and goals. Ensure the application of hypothesis-driven approach to develop conclusions relating to the market engagements in-line with the department's goals. Communicate, cascade, and raise awareness on hypothesis-driven approach, modeling, storyboarding, and strategic objectives to relevant Department teams. Manage the development of financial and market models using best practices and leverage these models to support the analyses required while ensuring alignment with the objectives.

Market Research and Analytics Manage identifying and defining the objective of an assigned market research project in-line with the department and sector goals and priorities. Provide strategic direction and monitor carrying out market local and international studies and research in the field of tourism to identify potential future plans. Manage and be the point of contact when interacting with a Consultancy Firm (in case hired) to ensure accurate research and findings are conducted. Oversee and ensure analysing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data and compiling/saving the data.

Reporting and Budgeting Manage the preparation and review progress reports on key updates for all market assessments, including hypotheses, underlying narratives, escalate red flags / potential delays for timely resolution and identifying areas of improvement, in order to achieve the defined KPIs and SLAs and present them to tourism management and leadership. Manage the preparation of the section's budget (in close cooperation with the concerned departments/sections) in order to serve the achievement of the desired results and objectives.

Shared Activity People Management Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through the leadership of the Section by setting of individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff to maximize performance. Lead the talent development initiatives for the assigned section, collaborating with technical/discipline experts and thereby ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements. Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned section to foster a value driven culture within the organization. Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures Manage and ensure effective implementation of functional policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned section activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service. Continuous Improvement Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction. Qualifications Bachelor's (Master's preferred) in Strategy, Market Research, Statistics, Economics or any other decree within relevant industry Experience 6 to 8 years of experience in market research or equivalent. 3-4 years of experience in a managerial position. Proven track record of designing and conducting successful market research projects is highly preferable. Skills Language: Full professional English proficiency both in speaking and writing Arabic bilingual is desirable but not mandatory Skilled in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) Excellent leadership and managerial skills: the ability to manage teams and multi-projects. Strong knowledge and track record of achievements in the tourism sector is preferable. In-depth and thought leadership in the tourism sector. Strategic and future-focused mindset. Ability to lead teams in diverse, multi-cultural organizations and ability to lead transformational change to the organization. Ability to manage multiple initiatives and programmes, agility & ability to work in a very fast paced environment. Experience with advanced statistical analysis Familiarity with qualitative methods
