Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Marine Superintendent MENA to join our global Oil & Gas service client, to be based in Abu Dhabi. The Marine Superintendent MENA will be responsible for providing daily marine support to the vessels and barges. The Marine Superintendent MENA will ensure marine assurance standards and rig move procedures are suitable, complied with and will ensure all marine risks are identified and assessed.   • Qualified Master Mariner (Unlimited) CoC.
  • 5 years seagoing experience with a minimum of 2 years as senior ranking officer preferably associated within the offshore industry.
  • High standard of written and verbal English.
  • Good knowledge of ISPS, ISM and Classification Society regulations and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential. Knowledge in other MS office package such as Power Point and Project would be an advantage.
  • Flexibility to travel for vessel visits. JOB DESCRIPTION
    • Provide instruction at company simulation centre.
    • Undertake offshore inspections of vessels and barges as per company procedures and prepares written reports in a timely manner for submission to the respective Fleet Manager.
    • Daily interaction with the Fleet Managers, Vessels, and barges on the status of fleet and marine matters.
    • Undertake Masters Assessments and manage the company Masters in Training program. Interview and advise on the recruitment of deck officers.
    • Monitor relevant forthcoming maritime legislation, industry codes and guides, advise in a timely manner, monitor implementation in order to achieve compliance.
    • Attends vessels and barges during critical third-party inspections, such as but not limited to, flag state, port state, class, charterer and client as requested by the Fleet Managers.
    • Ensures that the office technical library, nautical charts and publications are maintained to the latest revision and circulates regular updates to various flag state and statutory requirements to the fleet.
    • Organizes barge movements.
    • Abide by all company Health Safety and Environmental rules, regulations and policies.
    • Ensure compliance with Marine Assurance standard and Rig Move plans and procedures including proper analysis of Jacking Site and maintaining comprehensive records.
    • Provide instruction, training and assessment of senior officers.
    • Attends client rig move / risk assessments meetings and provides feedback regarding procedures, contingency planning, stability calculations, and any other special requirements.
    • Provide offshore rig-move superintendence as and when required.
    • Participates in marine incident investigations, advises marine corrective action, prepares circulars, and proposes recommendations to prevent recurrence.
    • Maintains an awareness of Maritime changes related to the theatre of work for company vessels and barges, and advises Fleet Managers accordingly.
    • Abide by all applicable international and national legislation and regulations.
    • Vessel visits twice per year for audits.
    • Report any known incident or accident to the Marine Manager.
    • Participate in any HSE reporting programs.
    • Taking personal accountability to ensure own safety and that of other colleagues, clients, visitors and/or contractors.
    • Complying with company incident/accident reporting processes and any HSE initiatives.
    • Completing site specific HSE Induction.
