Applied Technology and Management (ATM) a Geosyntec Company, is looking for a Marine, Coastal, Geotechnical, and Structural Engineer with at least 5 years of experience to join our marine and geotechnical practice in Dubai, UAE. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Civil design, coastal design, geotechnical investigation, and site layout;
  • Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and seismic;
  • Geotechnical and site characterization;
  • Review factual design reports, borehole logs and laboratory testing;
  • Preparation of geotechnical field investigation specifications and geotechnical interpretive reports;
  • Prepare foundation and pile design as well as ground improvement recommendations;
  • Developing engineering solutions to challenging structural and geotechnical problems and site conditions;
  • Coordination and support with marine and structural team on projects;
  • Oversee waterfront structure and marine infrastructure projects;
  • Design and engineering for a variety of areas such as harbors, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads and seawalls, breakwaters and shore protection structures, shoreline stabilization and sediment management;
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Small project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications; and
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory authorities

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering. (preferred)
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and/or Saudi Arabia for an engineering and construction firm. (required)
  • At least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Familiarity with international geotechnical design standards including Eurocode and British Standards. (preferred)
  • Familiarity and experience on coastal and waterfront projects. (preferred)
  • Experience with engineering software such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, SAP2000, ALLPILE, STAAD Pro, MATLab, SWAN, SBEACH, MIKE21, and Plaxis. (2D/3D) (preferred)
