Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts machining and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP's) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes. The Manufacturing engineer position is responsible for factory automation, evolving the confluence of mechanic & automation, this spearhead of industrial innovation designs and manufactures complex automated systems: Machines, automations, robots.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and develop manufacturing process platforms and automation systems for new product development and optimization of existing products Create new automation equipment or processes, including defining required materials and equipment Design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet quality and production standards Lead or participate in projects, including creating detailed drawings and models, and performing individual project tasks Act as an interface between engineering and manufacturing/production departments Utilize software knowledge in Creo Parametric and PDM-Link for creating and modifying CAD files Perform tests, process analysis, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functioning of processes and equipment Estimate labor, energy, and material requirements for assignments and determine feasibility Prepare quotations, concept plans, cost estimations, and raw material order lists

What your background should look like:

Engineering degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering field 4 years related professional experience with Relevant experience (2+ years) in machine design, development & conception in engineering manufacturing environment. Advanced knowledge of 3D design program (advantage Creo, Catia, solidworks) Basic knowledge of technical tools specific to the job function: e.g. CAD, CAE, industrial or quality engineering tools Basic knowledge of general engineering tools (LEAN or 6-sigma) such as DoE, FMEA, QFD, etc. & Structured problem-solving experience; A3, DMAIC Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint Fluent in English both written and spoken Readiness to travel if needed Innovative idea-generator Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, customers, and external regulatory officials. Technical report writing and excellent record keeping required.
