About the role
You will be responsible for short-term strategic planning, development & implementation of policies, monitoring and reporting of required resources for transportation services. Review the manpower & vehicle resources within the existing staff transport system and recommend the changes as well as improvements to optimize the utilization and maintain the service levels expected by the customers. You will supervise the road transport operations providing operational guidance ensuring safety aspects SPI/SLA are maintained

You will supervise the road transport operations providing operational guidance ensuring safety aspects SPI/SLA are maintained
Accountabilities
- Develop centralized data / record of vehicles and manpower deputed for fleet /transport services working on daily basis for staff transport on air side as well as land side. Setup a tracking program by guiding IT team to computer-based monitoring and relay of info and requirements to employees requiring and providing Transportation services.
- Review the existing transportation arrangement within the Group to plan optimization of resources. Review and recommend changes / amendments if required in the existing contracts with service providers appointed for Transportation - review and recommendation of service provider’s prequalification documents.
- Develop and implement the work procedures and network of transport services including setting up the day to day operational schedules for user departments through RMS solutions.
- Develop schedule, guidelines and standard operating procedures and circulate the same to all users. Periodically assess adherence to ensure compliance and determine appropriate corrections, where necessary.
- Identify and capture requirements for transportation related demand from business units; ensure resources are made available to the relevant operations team to ensure company’s requirements, as per planned expansion program, are met on time.
- Identify the procurement strategy for transport services, ensure these are reviewed and approved by stakeholders across the Group; liaise with Group Procurement and business units to implement the strategy.
- Review and action requests for resources received by the Transport Department. Approve where necessary and recommend alternatives where available to minimize cost to the Group.
- Prepare and submit reports / updates to Senior as well as Executive Management to keep them informed on operational performance and any issues that could affect business operation / continuity.

You will possess:
- A minimum of 8 years specialist of job-related experience required.
- Experience of working in multi-national organization in similar position.
- Experience of working in Aviation Industry and or in Ground Transport Industry / Private Service provider.
- Must be conversant with multiple core activities performed under Transportation Management.
- Should have ability to liaise with Government authorities for and on behalf of QR.
- Should have ability to receive and respond to senior management instructions and delegate work, set clear direction to the employees.
- Should have capacity to respond to emergency situations by performing the duties assigned in compliance with company procedures as well as government regulations.
- Prepare and formulate the conditions as well as government regulations.
- Prepare and formulate the conditions of maintenance agreements / service levels / response durations for contracts awarded to “Transportation” related service providers.
- Very Good Command of English language.
- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
