Job Summary
We're looking for a talented Trade Operations Manager to join our team. You'll support the execution of international trade transactions by closely collaborating with GBS and internal stakeholders in the bank ensuring client enquiries are handled in timely manner.
You'll be a key part of our Trade Services team, who are responsible for supporting the efficient execution of Trade Finance operations within the Bank. The team are vitally important to the Bank's core strategy, handling client enquiries globally. Key Responsibilities

• Verify and authorize all trade services transactions of the team, within delegated authorities and TP system release limits (wherever applicable)
• Verify contents of a transaction to ensure that neither customer nor Bank is placed at risk.
• Meet turnaround times as per the Service Level Agreement & productivity standards.
• Organise work flow to achieve maximum productivity.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Customer Service Group and Customers for enquiries / problem resolution.
• Monitor all transactions to ensure obligations / payments are duly met.
• Monitor and report to Senior Manager, Trade Services all irregular items with a view to take corrective action for timely liquidation of such items.
• Enhance morale of staff under direct control.
• Comply with internal operating procedures as per Procedures Manual and other Group Policy standards.
• Ensure that staff in the team is fully aware of the various initiatives and actively participate.
• Ensure all charges are applied correctly and appropriate approvals are held for waivers.
• Participate in the training and development of Trade Services personnel to ensure operational excellence at all levels.
• Operational Risk Management.
• Comply with Group Money Laundering Prevention Policy and Procedures to the extent applicable and reporting all suspicious transactions to the Line Manager.
• Ensure smooth flow of documents to SSC after pre-preparation of documents for scanning is carried out
• Sign documents viz. LC, Guarantees etc wherever applicable
• Assist Sr. Manager Trade Services in implementing changes to internal standards and procedures in line with development in the business.
• Handling enquiries from clients via phone or/and emails.
• Handling queries from internal stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with GBS to ensure transactions are processed in timely manner.

Skills & Experience

• Prior experience in Trade Finance operations within a banking or financial institution is preferred..
• Understanding of Trade Finance products, including export negotiations, guarantees and documentary collections is preferred.
• Relevant trade certification such as a Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists. (CDCS), Certificate for Specialists in Demand Guarantees (CSDG), or Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) can be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) & sanctions.
• Familiarity with Trade Finance systems and technologies.
