Technical Services Manager - Personal Care and Specialty Markets

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a visionary Technical Services Manager / Applications Scientist (depending on level of experience); to be based in or laboratory in Dubai. You will be creative, formulation and customer oriented, autonomous in your work and like to play with color and textures associated with Personal Care & Home Care products. Being part of a global Applications team, you will deploy innovations from Sensient excellence centers globally and adapt them to your local market. You will participate in the global new formulation development program. Based in Dubai, you will support Middle East and South East Asia regions on their specific market needs and trouble shoot customer formulation challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design new stable and efficient formulations to support customer requests or to proactively innovate.
• Match texture and/or color of existing personal care / home care formulations with Sensient ingredients.
• Design and/or adapt from library new formulations based on Middle East / South East Asia trends (Halal market countries).
• Troubleshoot customer formulation issues using Sensient ingredients.
• Design new formulations based on world trends (following global formulation program).
• Preparation of samples of new cosmetic and industrial formulations to support customer workshops/meetings/exhibitions.
• Conduct training on Sensient ingredients and their applications for customers and Sales staff
• Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers.
• Supports Sales staff and travel with them to provide support during customer visits and meetings.
• Manage laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Procure samples of new raw materials and reformulate with these as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Minimum: degree in Chemistry with specialization in formulation from an accredited university.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Home Care or Personal Care formulation.
• Fluent in English.
• Basic level of MS Office.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize with limited supervision.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with diverse groups of people at various levels.
• Develop and update critical issues on a weekly basis to reflect accomplishments and priorities.
• Ability to meet deadlines, while being flexible to changes in priority.
