Manager Ramp Operations

, you will Manage the Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) Airside Operations within agreed standards and financial targets. Provides leadership and management for the provision of assigned ground handling services through specific operational areas: Ramp handling, GSE handling, Baggage handling, Airside transportation, Turnaround coordination and any other services as directed by QAS Management. Deliver a consistently high standard of operations in line with Company polices, respective Customer Airline Standard Ground Handling Agreement and Service level agreements

Strategic


Analyze and understand Operational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Provides insights following the analysis of case studies, trends which will support strategic planning and contribute to the process improvement. Delivers Just Culture principles within Qatar Aviation Services, ensuring that safety and security remains the highest priority. Support creation of people engagement plans to motivate, develop and empower team members. Delivers key strategic projects link that will benefit our business, our people and our stakeholders. Interprets policy and develops tactical plans within Airside Operations in order to achieve the key strategic plans assigned by head of section.

Operational




Responsible for the management and daily use of operational handling logistics and coordination with divisions and stakeholders involved in handling services. Accountable for the health and safety of employees within associated areas promoting safe working environment and just culture principles. Lead by example while maintaining health and safety standards and excellent working practices in line with Company polices. Engage in operational assessment through regular observations while identifying any potential noncompliance and implement preventative and/or process improvement action plans. Ensures that Company's and individual carrier's standards are implemented and maintained at agreed service level of quality and compliance. Responsible for the investigation and reporting of any critical accidents, incidents and operational constraints, supporting Line Manager and both QAS and QR Group Safety in the resolution of service deficiencies in timely manner. Analyze and study the root cause(s) of incident(s), accident(s) and service lapse(s), and design and implement the solution(s) to ensure continuous improvement. Accountable for creation and delivery of short and long term people engagement plans to maintain Just Culture principles and control of a diverse business operation. Create efficient resource plans in coordination with QAS Resource Management team in order to deliver accurate and detailed forecasting, resulting in effective resource allocation throughout the airside operations. Ensure and determine sufficient competencies are in place within assigned department in accordance with operational demands Establish measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPl's) for the business in accordance to guidelines and standards of company's operational and financial objectives. Preparation and execution of annual budget plans within the defined business area as determined by the Head of Department. Develop a reporting culture of operational services together with the direct and indirect reports, ensuring safety, quality and performance investigations are complete, accurate and done in a timely manner. Participate and support the growth and development of Company expansion plans throughout the provision of operational analysis and scope review related to any process change impacting the ground handling services. Explore and implement technological opportunities to improve ground handling process and activities that will benefit our business, our people, our stakeholders and carbon footprint Deliver operational process improvement change to impact resource efficiency, reduce waste and service quality. Provide innovative business continuity plans in order to maintain excellence in all operational areas. Manage the assigned operational contracts and if necessary periodically review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), resource demands and adopt necessary changes for smooth airside operations. Coordinate with internal and external business units stakeholders for continuous improvements in customer contact processes and service style in order to eliminate/reduce negative customer feedback, contribute to revenue growth, cost effectiveness and profitability. Represent the assigned sections of Airside operations as required in stakeholders management and/ or operational meetings to ensure that issues of operations, safety and security are promptly addressed, resolved and amendments made to internal service level agreements Operational areas: +

Baggage Operations:

Airside baggage handling services: passenger and crew baggage sortation, reconciliation, transfer baggage handling, special baggage handling.

Airside Transportation

: Cargo & baggage, passenger, crew and VIP transportation, staff shuttle service.

Ramp Handling and Turnaround Coordination:

Ramp loading and unloading, GSE utilization and allocation, GSE fleet quality, Turnaround supervision and coordination, documentation handling.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications



T

o be sucessful in the role, we are looking for the below mentioned experience and skills :


Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Minimum 8 years of job-related experience Experience in Ground Handling station or Operations Management Expert knowledge of hub ground handling operational procedures. Must possess a strong, decisive and collaborative leadership style. Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, equality and respect. Ability to effectively communicate with clear, concise and consistent messages. Experience of leading, managing, inspiring and engaging a large multi-cultural workforce. A change agent, results oriented who can deliver innovative execution at pace. Understands the value of high customer service delivered within a cost conscious culture. Strength in learning and development; mentoring and coaching skills. Fluent in spoken and written English. Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
Preferred
Airline and/or Ground Handling Management related courses. IATA course
