ROLE PURPOSE:

The SAP BSS Manager is responsible for the assessment of the IT requirements, in order to deliver appropriate application solutions within SAP, resulting in the successful implementation and ongoing maintenance of the system. The SAP BSS Manager is responsible to handle all new projects and liaise with 3rd party partners. The SAP BSS Manager will additionally need to provide technical support to end users as and when required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations Accountabilities
  • Benchmark, analyse, communicate, make recommendations and execute actions to ensure efficacy of SAP applications landscape.
  • Collaborate with IT leaders to identify, recommend, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organisation.
  • Communicate project milestones and key accomplishments to the IT Senior Manager and Steering Teams on a regular basis.
  • Manage, configure, implement and optimise SAP systems.
  • Coordinate user change requests and security requests with SAP Project Office.
  • Develop and grow the existing team into a high performance, efficient and effective team.
  • Develop specifications for custom transactions or interfaces with systems.
  • Develop strong business relationships and work collaboratively with business leaders to ensure alignment of business priorities to IT deliverables, by prioritising requests, resources, and deliverables throughout the solution implementation lifecycle.
  • Ensure effective security, operation and peak performance of SAP environments.
  • Ensure change management processes are implemented and followed.
  • Improve and design new solutions, components, and processes.
  • Lead teams to deliver high quality well architected solutions based on best practices.
  • Manage incidents, problems, changes and releases.
  • Monitor and support interfaces of SAP modules.
  • Oversee security access control configuration and maintenance.
  • Participate in implementation of new projects and in changes of existing solutions.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate in support of company\xe2\x80\x99s strategic initiatives.
  • Perform technical research on configuration problems and functional issues.
  • Provide operational expertise for solution and component design, optimisation, changes and problem resolution.
  • Responsible for development, maintenance and testing of contingency plans, lifecycle planning for the software.
  • Review performance of the SAP applications landscape to determine operating costs, productivity levels and upgrade requirements.
  • Set up, administer, and support production, test and development environments.
  • Submit weekly BSS status reports to project managers
  • Understand and make recommendations on technical software design and specifications.
  • Work with functional teams and architecture teams to determine best practices for future landscapes
Educational Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science, business administration, information systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Professional Qualifications & Experience:
  • 8 to 12 years direct experience administrating SAP (i.e. Netweaver, Portal, BW, PI, CRM, etc.), preferable in the telecommunications industry.
  • A proven track record in leading teams in SAP implementation, with internal onsite and offshore teams in a structured environment.
  • Demonstrated dynamic leadership skills with proven capabilities in building high performance teams and delivering expected results in complex environments.
  • Experience in reviewing system performance & providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Experienced in running an SAP COE, with deep understanding of technical, functional and business interface elements of the system.
  • Professional experience in the area of System Administration of SAP Systems including: SAP S4, SAP PI, SAP BW, HANA, BOBJ, CRM, SAP Hybris Billing, SAP Convergent Charging, SAP BI, SAP Enterprise Portal and Solution Manager
  • Proven extensive understanding and experiences in successfully implementing application design, development, and testing methodologies and practices.
  • Proven understanding and utilisation of best practice solutions to drive predictable outcomes.
  • ITIL/eTOM/PMP/Prince2 certificates is a plus.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to configure monitoring of SAP HANA Databases (DCC)
  • Ability to create and configure connection SLT to HANA, SLT to ECC
  • Ability to effectively oversee and manage external partner relationships, contracts and service agreements.
  • Ability to install and integrate BSS equipment
  • Ability to migrate other databases to the HANA experience
  • Ability to run faults detection, analysis, troubleshooting, escalation and resolution of base station subsystems.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment with continuous challenges.
  • Ability to work under pressure with little to no supervision
  • Able to adapt to new developments and technology
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to impart ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Extensive BSS troubleshooting skills
  • Good project management skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen with significant business interaction experience, including establishing and managing relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong functional, organisational and communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively meet deadlines and milestones.
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Used to work on high-available and mission-critical environments.
