MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE: To lead and optimise Materials Planning, Purchasing, Components and Repairs Management within the Engineering & Maintenance department by ensuring cost-effective procurement, inventory efficiency, supplier performance, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation, while fostering team development and aligning with flydubai's operational and strategic goals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares and manages the annual budget for spare parts and materials, ensuring cost-effective procurement within approved limits.
Plans, negotiates, and procures spares and materials, including Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE), in alignment with operational and financial objectives.
Manages Pool, Power By the Hour (PBH) and Just-In-Time (JIT) contracts to optimise cost efficiency and material availability.
Ensures flydubai-owned assets are tracked, controlled, and reconciled to maintain financial and operational accountability.
Develops and manages relationships with vendors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and suppliers to secure competitive contracts and long-term partnerships.
Negotiates supplier support agreements to enhance supply chain resilience and mitigate risks.
Ensures vendor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met and corrective actions are taken where necessary.
Oversees subcontracted component repairs and ensures compliance with contractual terms and agreed turnaround times.
Manages the engineering inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimising excess and obsolescence.
Collaborates with Engineering & Maintenance, Operations, and other departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
Arranges material support for Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Contracted organisations and Outstations to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Ensures full compliance with aviation regulations, industry standards, and flydubai policies in all procurement and materials management activities.
Leads digitalisation initiatives to enhance automation, data analytics, and technology-driven efficiencies in material planning and procurement.
Represents the Materials Team in operational and strategic meetings, providing insights and recommendations to Senior Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
Degree in related field or full technological certificate in related subject or equivalent.
Fluent in English
Minimum 8 years of experience in aviation supply chain or material management. Prior experience in process development and compliance audits is essential.
Knowledge of AMOS for inventory and procurement management is mandatory and Q-Pulse, Compass or similar platform for compliance and audit management is desirable.
8 - 10 years
PMP Certification or equivalent is an advantage. CISCP/CISCM/CIPS or equivalent Supply Chain certification is an advantage.
