KEY RESPONSIBILITY Planning & Governance
1. Bring the IT Department to be in conformance to IT governance as outlined in the COBIT standard guidelines.
2. Strive towards obtaining ITIL certification under ISO 20000 for service delivery compliance.
3. Maintain current certification of ISO 27001 for Information Security Management.
4. Evolve current Enterprise Architecture to conform to best practice guidelines published by TOGAF. Essentially, the architecture must reduce applications redundancy, promote user friendly additions of new applications, and allow easy update of changes to the architecture as a consequence of changes to current applications.
Quality Assurance and Manpower Support to Software Development
1. Ensure compliance to CMMI 3 software development workflows and templates, as well as development standards.
2. Ensure quality design of all new applications and enhancements undertaken by Business Applications Management team, as well as quality program codes that comply with IT Department conventions and standards.
3. Ensure availability of system documentation that is clear and unambiguous and of sufficient details.
4. Ensure database design is coherent across all applications with no duplication of tables as mandated in the Enterprise Architecture model.
5. Ensure error messages are clear and easy to understand.
6. Work with commercial vendors and Procurement Department to build up a pool of IT manpower resource, both in the area of application design and program coding, so that the Business Applications Management team will not be handicapped with lack of resources to advance business unit\xe2\x80\x99s goals and objectives.
Ensure compliance to IT policy in terms of implementation and monitoring of information security management in your department in line with the UAE region ISR policy.
