Role
FP&A are responsible for providing management with the analysis and information they need to consider economic and business trends, and attempt to anticipate obstacles and potential problems, all with an eye toward forecasting a company's future financial.
They are also responsible for performing variance analysis of past performances in line with the plan / forecast.
Function/Responsibilities
Functions/responsibilities of FP&A have different frequencies according to business needs and the functioning of reporting & analysis are categorized into daily, monthly, weekly, quarterly and yearly.
Daily Functions

  • Sales and Gross Margin performance reporting in comparison with the forecast
  • Collection reporting by Business Units
  • Tracking of out bound deliveries not invoiced
  • Quotation reports by BU
Weekly Functions
  • Order and backlog reporting in weekly HFM for the Entity
  • Prepare and publish weekly flash for the Business Unit and the Entity
Monthly Functions
  • Facilitate business units in preparation of monthly forecast for sales, gross margin and direct expenses
  • Load the monthly forecast in Hyperion Financial Management System (HFM)
  • Prepare forecast review pack, for review with HQ
  • Prepare monthly close deck for HQ review
  • Prepare, performance variance analysis, and publish Business Units P&L
  • Prepare and publish Business Units KPI dashboards and Control Tower
  • Review orders and backlog reporting for the entity during month end closing by accounting team
  • Prepare monthly management meeting presentation for RHQ/ HQ
  • Load and reconcile Functional Cost reporting
  • Minority JV earnings loading in HFM and it's reconciliation
  • Manage monthly forecast meetings, for all JVs.
  • Monthly Capex reporting in SharePoint
Quarterly Functions
  • Sales Incentive computation by sales personnel for each Business Unit, to ensure adequate provisions are in place and suggest any true up requirements
  • Dealer rebate computation by dealer, to ensure adequate provisions are in place and suggest any true up requirements
Yearly Functions
  • Facilitate and prepare Annual Plan package
  • Facilitate and prepare Long Range Plan
  • Liaison with Business and provide necessary data analytics support
  • Ensure accuracy of annual provisioning rates of warranty, freight out, SIP, etc. charges, and its configuration in SAP
SAP Support Functions
  • Provide UAT for management reports developed in SAP BI/ HANA systems
  • Suggest any upcoming reporting requirements based on business needs
  • Ensure accuracy of existing reports from time to time
