Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Retail Finance is responsible for financial forecasting, budgeting, analysis, performance management, consolidation processes, controlling of the full P&L for the Retail channel, and provides tailored key performance indicators for performance management.
The cornerstone activity of this role is consistency, transparency, planning, analyzing, reporting, and partnering with all relevant stakeholders in alignment with globally defined standardized guidelines and processes.
As a business partner we enable fact-based decision making, best practice sharing and continuous process improvement by big data analysis, creating transparency on financial impact of decisions made by the retail commercial team. We derive corresponding solution through application of state-of-the-art analytical tools and business expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a member of EMC Finance team to control the Retail P&L & CAPEX spend.
- Manage and execute comprehensive Retail channel controlling, ensure smooth operation, analysis and reporting of the business for all related actions (i.e. Business Plan management, Stores Portfolio expansion Plans, Impairment Test) and secure business partnering with stakeholders.
- Coordinate, execute and participate in the budgeting process for EMC.
- Manage and execute full Retail P&L (Net Sales, Standard Margin, Net Margin, Costs) analysis for making better business decisions by actively collaborating with business partners.
- Identify significant improvement potential through variance analysis, derive solutions and facilitate related decisions.
- Managing, monitoring, reporting and approving Capex spending\xe2\x80\x99s of all EMC subsidiaries.
- Be a strong data analyst and through big data file and system data from SAP, MicroStrategy as well as other finance tools where is necessary to generate insights and recommendation for costs improvement or service improvement opportunities.
- Share the result of GAP analysis and provide the root cause/clues/ views of underperformance and provide suggestions and solutions of performance improvement.
- Creating transparency and acting as advisor for commercial, finance and other counterparts based on the actual reporting, forecasting/budgeting process, potential Risk / Opportunities and management comments.
- Manage and execute standardized monthly and ad-hoc financial forecasting reporting / process and partner with business for enabling fact-based decision making.
- Ensure timely & accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end closing reporting according to Group policies (including monthly comments).
- Reporting on all globally aligned KPIs for ad-hoc, short- and long-term planning in line with global standards.
- Develop and implement adequate and aligned communication packages to present results, recommendations, and solutions.
- Develop and create new processes & analytic tools; Enhance and improve working methods for day-to-day processes and systems.
- Lead medium sized projects, implement findings and ensure sustainability of achievements.
- Provide support to EMC countries regarding accounting treatment issues to ensure compliance with group regulations, by collaborating with local Accounting teams.
Key Relationships:
- EMC Retail Commercial team including Real estate, Store Development, Retail Merchandising, Retail Operations teams, etc, across 7 different countries.
- EMC Finance team and Demand Planning team teams
- EMC Accounting and HR teams
- EM Hub Retail Finance team.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- University degree preferably in from Data Analysis, Finance, Economics, or Accounting related major.
- 4-10 years of work experience in analysis related field.
- Advanced MS Excel and PPT skills.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools and system language, such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, etc. is preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP, and other relevant adidas and industry Finance systems/analytical software a major plus.
- Strong on logical thinking, quick-learner and can work under pressure.
- Industry experience in apparel/fashion/consumer goods or FMCG is an advantage.
- Understanding of the interactions and dynamics within an international organization.
- Fluent written and spoken in English.
