As Shamal Holding continues to grow, we're in search of a Manager - Design Management. In this role you will lead and oversee the architectural design process for Shamal's real estate projects, ensuring design excellence, functionality, and alignment with the brand's vision and commercial objectives. This role will be responsible for managing external design consultants, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and project timelines. Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of design briefs, scope of services, schedules, and reports.
  • Assist in managing the design process from feasibility through to construction and handover, ensuring design intent is maintained.
  • Preparation of innovative design ideation, solutions and using innovative design methods.
  • Facilitate internal stakeholder input, consolidating feedback and ensuring clear communication across all design disciplines.
  • Assist in managing external consultants, and design teams to ensure timely delivery of design milestones against program, budget, project brief and company standards.
  • Review and comment on design documentation and specifications to ensure alignment with development objectives and standards.
  • Participate in design workshops, presentations, and coordination meetings as required.
  • Assist with project timelines, deliverables, and budgetary constraints in relation to design scope.
  • Review and comment on design drawings and proposals for compliance with planning policies, building regulations and best practice.
  • Support the internal development team during feasibility studies and project appraisals with input on site potential, design efficiencies, and layout concept optimisation.
  • Coordinate design inputs across disciplines (MEP, structural, ID, landscape, etc.) to ensure integrated and buildable solutions.
  • Assist in preparing design and development reports for internal stakeholders, including Business Plan and Design Stage Gateway presentations.
  • Assist with internal department processes for technical procurement reviews and evaluations.
  • Identify design issues and provide solutions in collaboration with consultants during pre-contract and post-contract stages using a solution orientated approach.
  • Attend periodic construction related design coordination workshops meetings during construction/delivery phase.
  • Attend regular site visits to monitor QA/QC and ensure delivery is aligned with approved design intent through to handover.
Qualifications:
Preferred Educational Qualifications and Professional Certifications
  • Bachelors' degree in Architecture or related field. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 10-12 years' experience in architectural design or design management role.
  • Proficiency in design, presentation and visualisation software (ArchiCAD, Revit, Lumion/Enscape, Adobe Suite, etc.).
  • Experience in luxury residential, hospitality, or high-end mixed-use developments is essential.
  • Experience and wider understanding of other key integrated design disciplines.
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of design standards, planning processes, and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and liaise with senior stakeholders.
