Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: Manage the development and monitor implementation of the ADNOC Group Carbon strategy, enabling policies and focused execution support in line with corporate strategic objectives to deliver opportunities to future proof the business and addressing climate response issues. Provide climate change expertise, risk analysis and future proof options. Manage coordination and maintain external policy partnerships and advocacy. Lead on carbon reporting, forecasting and business planning activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Carbon Strategy: Develop climate and energy transition insights, knowledge, and input for ADNOC Leadership briefings, announcements, stakeholder engagement meetings and related communications. Manage the development and monitor implementation of the ADNOC Group carbon strategy and enabling policies. Set carbon targets, track carbon footprint and deliver on ADNOC's carbon reduction commitments through focused execution support in line with corporate strategic objectives to deliver opportunities to future proof the business and win in the energy transition. Lead and manage the carbon strategy team in developing effective programs that will reduce the Group's energy use, carbon footprint, and implement sustainable methods of managing the portfolio of ADNOC assets. Provide expertise and knowledge of the science, policies, technologies, and environmental interventions associated with climate change including the international context and evidence base for carbon reduction targets. Monitor key changes in global legislation and policy and identify any impacts these may have on the ADNOC's carbon reduction ambition. Collaborate proactively and effectively across service and organizational boundaries and build a strong network of committed stakeholders to deliver the councils carbon reduction targets. Actively seek future funding sources for de-carbonization and develop business cases, bids and proposals to secure external funding where possible. Provide expert advice on climate-related disclosures to ensure best practices and, working with the finance team, support attraction of sustainable finance and investment opportunities. Engage and advocate externally for incentivized external policies and supportive regulatory environment locally and internationally to provide opportunities for ADNOC to win in the energy transition. Develop strategic partnerships and high-profile engagements on climate change externally and enhance ADNOC external communications, marketing, and brand value. Establish and ensure maintenance of positive relationships and cooperative arrangements between the Group and wide spectrum of international climate change commentators to drive positive climate profile of ADNOC and the UAE. Provide support and best in class advice in the fields of climate change response, carbon strategy and management across the value chain. This includes advice on the establishment of internal controls, processes and systems where applicable to ensure: Monitoring of developments in climate-related scenarios and carbon pricing globally. Climate-related energy transition goals and objectives are effectively managed. Support to develop ADNOC's low-emissions product portfolio, with major focus on hydrogen carriers, low carbon crude and fuels, related certification, and product foot printing. Development of circular natural solutions for carbon capture, bioenergy, and monetising biodiversity in collaboration with technology and sustainability teams. Manage change initiatives; network internally cross-business and functionally Via Community of Practices and externally by establishing and maintaining relationship with international oil companies, key stakeholders, industrial bodies, associations, and other groups to develop opportunities. Lead unification and standardization of carbon management strategy across the value chain. Develop the Group's digital carbon emissions measurement, reporting and verification strategy, related execution plans, digital platforms, emissions reporting, etc. to improve ready access to emissions abatement performance, forecasting and decision-making. Facilitate ADNOC climate change internally, engage with staff via carbon events. Identify and develop carbon-related future skills and competency framework. Build carbon community of practice and carbon competitive leadership program to mature local capability. Build capabilities and lead carbon community of practice development of climate change and carbon expertise across ADNOC Group, with specific focus on UAE Nationals. Develop ADNOC talent using external engagement opportunities to build capability, skills and knowledge of climate change responses, carbon management and energy transition.

Sustainability & Climate Change Culture Transformation: Support the development and implementation of ADNOC's Sustainability & Climate Change culture transformation strategies as required. Participate in deep dive reviews on GCs/ BLDs Sustainability & Climate Change risks insights and provide expert input related to performance (including abnormalities against leading, lagging, and dashboard) in the fields of Sustainability. Participate and support Sustainability & Climate Change programs and communications as appropriate.

Generic Accountabilities

Management Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the Department to achieve the Division objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Department in line with Division objectives. Develop the knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Department and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP's), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Department in coordination with the Human Capability Group to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.

Budgets and Operational Plans Compile and provide input for preparation of the Division budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the Department budget levels. Investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures Lead the implementation of approved Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Division work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Department in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Department KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.

Organisation Structure and Development Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Department that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services. Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Department.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Department in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices. Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Department employees to meet HSE standards.

Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports Prepare all Department MIS and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability / Environmental Studies

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills 15 years of professional experience in (required relevant experience for job)
