Communication



Internal Communication:



Senior Manager - Shipping Agencies


Purpose:



To advise the manager on the progress of all work under his/her control.


External Communication:



Shipping Lines & Ship Operators, Ship Owners


Official Authorities


Port Services


Purpose:



To represent shipping lines and ship operators in the preparation of shipping documentation and processing all regulatory requirements.


To coordinate and communicate on shipping agency operational matters on behalf of Agency Shipping lines.


To communicate on operational issues and coordinate stevedoring services and any other work dependencies.


Occupational Health & Safety and Environment



Accountability:



Are accountable for their acts and omissions.


Responsibility:



To follow agreed safe systems of work; to follow training and instructions; and to report accidents, incidents and near misses.


Authority:



To stop work if they think the work is unsafe.



Minimum Qualification/Experiences/Skills



Education & Professional Qualification:



Bachelor's Degree in relevant field

Professional Experience:



8-10 years of experience in sales and line management within the shipping industry in Qatar or Middle East market, with a focus on containerized shipping and vessel agencies

Geographic Experience:



Not required

Computer Skills:



Good knowledge of MS Office and web applications

Language Skills:



Business fluent English, Arabic advantage

Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:



Deep understanding of the shipping industry, including containerized services, vessel operations, and port management. Knowledge of maritime regulations and industry standards is essential. Good knowledge of shipping agencies, liner and non liner Good knowledge of local and international shipping related laws and regulations Good contacts with Liner and Non Liner Principals. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office, and shipping industry software. Strategic thinking with a results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities/Communication/OHSE



Key Roles & Responsibilities



Business Development:


Identify new business opportunities, target potential clients, and principals Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in the shipping, and trade sectors. Develop agency business with company for Liner and Non Liner Business
Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor and analyze the market, upcoming projects, government developments plans, including competitors' activities, customer requirements, and industry trends, to identify new business opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly for the existing trade lanes.

Commercial:



Proposal Development: Prepare customized proposals, quotations, and tenders for clients, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with company policies.

Sales:



Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue growth, ensuring alignment with company goals and market trends.


Sales Targets: Set, track, and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, providing regular reports to senior management on performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients, Key Accounts and Global Key Accounts addressing their needs, managing expectations, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.


Represent Milaha agency for the various meetings with Port, Terminal, Off Dock, Liner and Principals, weekly, monthly and annual conferences. Participating in VIP tender accounts and submission of tenders for Liner and Non Liner business.

Operations:



Monitor day to day business operation, empty and laden container loading planning, Vessel CBF planning & TDR reports, etc.


-Agency Services - Oversee the operations of vessel agencies, ensuring the timely and efficient handling of vessels calling in the Middle East, including all port services, documentation, and compliance.


Operational Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, logistics, customer service) to ensure the smooth execution of shipping operations and timely deliveries.


Client and Vendor Coordination: Work closely with clients, agents, port authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth vessel operations and resolve any issues related to vessel schedules, cargo handling, and documentation.


Performance Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for both sales and operational activities, providing insights to senior management to improve overall performance.


Budget Management: Monitor and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while meeting operational goals and sales objectives.

Others:



Team Leadership: Manage and guide the operational team, ensuring that all functions are performed efficiently, professionally, and in line with company standards.


Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, safety protocols, and environmental policies, keeping the company's reputation intact and minimizing operational risks.
