Role Purpose

Ensure the

reliability, performance, and continuous improvement

of all food processing and packaging machinery, including dal mills, spice grinders (ACM, pin, hammer, cryogenic), nut roasters, bulk/bottle filling lines, and vacuum sealing systems. The Machine Engineer will design maintenance schedules, lead troubleshooting, and optimize machine efficiency while upholding

HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 standards

.

Key Responsibilities

1. Equipment Reliability & Maintenance

Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all production machinery. Supervise installation, calibration, and commissioning of new machines (dal mills, roasters, fillers, grinders, packaging lines). Perform root-cause analysis of breakdowns and implement corrective/preventive actions. Maintain spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are always available.
2. Troubleshooting & Technical Support

Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues on machines. Support machine operators in resolving production stoppages and reduce downtime. Liaise with OEMs, vendors, and service contractors for specialized repairs and upgrades.
3. Process Optimization & Efficiency

Analyze machine performance data (OEE, downtime, yield) and identify areas for improvement. Recommend upgrades, modifications, and automation to enhance throughput and product quality. Optimize settings for grinders, roasters, dal mills, and fillers to reduce waste and maintain consistency.
4. Compliance & Safety

Ensure all equipment complies with

UAE Municipality regulations

, HACCP, GMP, and ISO/FSSC 22000 standards. Maintain complete maintenance logs, calibration records, and breakdown reports for audit readiness. Implement and enforce machine safety protocols, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and PPE usage.
5. People Development & Training

Train operators and technicians on correct machine handling, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting. Create SOPs, manuals, and visual guides for machine operation and maintenance. Build a culture of safety-first, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering. Minimum 4-5 years' experience in

food/FMCG manufacturing

with exposure to grinding, roasting, milling, and packaging machinery. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, PLCs, pneumatics, and electrical troubleshooting. Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and food safety requirements. Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance programs and ERP/WMS reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work under pressure in high-volume environments. Language skills: English required; Hindi/Urdu preferred; Arabic an advantage.
