Job Description

Imperium Commodity Search is working with a small entrepreneurial metals trading company in Dubai looking to continue their growth through the addition of an experienced metals operator/traffic and logistics executive.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage traffic operations and logistics partners in the region
• Deal with letters of credit, BLs and trade finance with external counterparties
• Ensure smooth operations process to facilitate timely and accurate trades
• Work with front office trading team to ensure loading, unloading and passage of non-ferrous metal products and goods
• Liaise with ports/port authorities and ensure all contracts, paperwork and documentation is accurate and received/sent in a timely manner
• Manage any logistics issues/problems to resolution
• Liaise with shipping companies, ship owners, docks, couriers, logistics providers and counterparties to negotiate freight rates and costs
• Assist front office with general operational support where required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in as an operator/operations manager in a back to back metals trading environment
• Good understanding of trade finance, letters of credit and trade documentation (INCOTERMS)
• Prior experience in a multinational trading firm would be a benefit
• Experience in an independent metal trading business is key
• Experienced in dealing with shipping firms, companies and logistics providers
• Excellent knowledge of shipping/freight and logistics
• Demonstrated experience in working with front office trading teams
