The Logistics Coordinator - Import is responsible for managing and coordinating the inbound logistics process for international shipments of perfumes, raw materials, and packaging components. The role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant importation of goods while maintaining quality standards and optimizing inventory flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Import Coordination:
o Coordinate international shipments (air, sea, and land) of finished perfumes, fragrance oils, packaging, and raw materials.
o Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and clearance of goods.
o Monitor and track shipments, providing regular updates to internal teams.
Customs Compliance:
o Ensure all documentation complies with international trade regulations
o Work closely with customs brokers to ensure smooth and compliant import clearance.
o Stay updated on changes to import/export regulations, especially those affecting hazardous or flammable goods (e.g., alcohol-based products in perfumes).
Documentation & Reporting:
o Prepare and review shipping and import documents.
o Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and customs entries.
o Generate reports on shipment status, lead times, and logistics KPIs.
Coordination with Internal Teams:
o Communicate with purchasing, production, QA, and warehouse teams to align import schedules with business needs.
o Coordinate delivery of goods to the warehouse or production sites.
Inventory & Cost Management:
o Monitor import costs and work on cost optimization strategies (freight, duty, demurrage, etc.).
o Assist with monthly reconciliation of import-related invoices and inventory tracking.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or related field.
2-4 years of experience in import logistics or international supply chain, preferably in the cosmetics, perfume, or FMCG industries.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/word/Power point
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
