Your New Role\xe2\x80\xa6

A proactive, editorial and meticulously organized individual, the Senior Planning Editor will work directly with the Senior Director of Futures, Global Directors of Coverage, digital and programming, particularly Connect the World, to execute cross platform news coverage on global stories.

The Senior Planning Editor will have two key roles - to execute plans directed by the Senior Director of Futures and Director of Futures, but also in initiating deployments during breaking news in conjunction with the news desk, global futures team, and the DOCS.

This position is crucial in ensuring smooth cross platform planning and communication with multiple stakeholders across the global CNN family. The Senior Futures Editor ensures coverage plans are well defined and full details are outlined in documented fashion.

Your Role Accountabilities\xe2\x80\xa6

Editorial direction of the regional planning process, identifying opportunities to break news and enterprise original and distinctive content for both TV and digital.

Working with CNN\xe2\x80\x99s platforms to best showcase CNN exclusives, CNN moments and key stories of our time. This position will be a key communicator and liaison with all platforms.

Breaking news: Responding quickly and proactively to priorities across the News Group. Shoring up deployments, editorial and logistics in the aftermath of breaking news in step with the Sr. Director of Futures, the Directors of Coverage, programming, and Digital.

Providing accurate budgets for newsgathering sends and breaking news.

Logistical support: Ensuring that the things that make us able to react quickly (visas, logistics, accreditations) are all up to date. Ensure seamless and compelling coverage across all CNN platforms with no logistical impediments to fast reactions of teams to breaking news and events.

Planning coverage of key themes, scheduled news events and breaking news. Working in step with the expectations of the entire News Group: digital, social and broadcast and ensuring clear prioritization to meet all the varying platform needs.

Qualifications & Experience\xe2\x80\xa6

Editorial and field experience: In-depth knowledge and proven track record in cross-platform newsgathering and editorial delivery.

Broad awareness of CNN\xe2\x80\x99s digital and social platforms and priorities \xe2\x80\x93 what material works on each and how they perform in the competitive landscape.

Working under pressure: Able to thrive in a pressured breaking news environment. Able to respond to changes in the editorial agenda and respond to situations on the ground for our field teams.

Attention to detail: Exceptionally organized with meticulous attention to detail.

Proven experience in editorial/legal standards and practices.

Second language skill is a plus.

Weekend and evenings shifts may be required in this role.
