Loading Dock Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Loading Dock Coordinator is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the shipping and receiving dock. This role involves managing the flow of goods, coordinating with truck drivers, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. The coordinator is key to maintaining a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Dock Management: Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound truck appointments to prevent congestion and delays.
• Supervision: Direct the activities of dock workers and forklift operators, ensuring safe and efficient loading/unloading of goods.
• Inventory Control: Verify shipment accuracy by comparing receipts to purchase orders and invoices. Report any discrepancies or damages.
• Documentation: Prepare and process all necessary shipping and receiving documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs forms.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols on the dock, including proper use of equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and hazardous material handling procedures.
• Communication: Liaise with warehouse managers, procurement teams, and carrier representatives to resolve issues and update on shipment status.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving role, with at least 1 year in a coordination or supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and dock safety practices.
