About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and highly reliable male caregiver to provide daily support and assistance for a young adult with autism. The role requires a live-in arrangement, with accommodation and meals provided. The caregiver will ensure safety, structure, and emotional support while assisting in daily living activities, behavioral therapy, and community integration.

Key Responsibilities

Provide full-time care, supervision, and companionship. Assist with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, dressing, medication reminders). Support social skills, communication, and behavioral management strategies. Implement and follow therapy plans (ABA or other behavioral/educational programs). Monitor and record progress, behaviors, and daily routines. Plan and participate in structured activities, outings, and recreational programs. Maintain a safe, structured, and calm environment. Work in collaboration with family members and therapists to ensure continuity of care. Provide emotional support and encourage independence where possible. Handle any crises with patience, problem-solving, and professionalism.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

: Degree/diploma in Psychology, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or a related field (preferred). ABA therapy training/certification is highly desirable.

Experience

: Minimum 2-3 years' hands-on experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with special needs. Experience in behavior management, communication support, and daily life skills training.

Skills & Attributes

: Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders. Knowledge of ABA techniques and evidence-based behavioral interventions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Physically fit to assist with daily activities if required. Organized, reliable, and committed to long-term care. Ability to create a safe and nurturing environment. Cultural sensitivity and respect for family values.
