Job Title: Light Vehicle / Heavy Bus Driver
Department: Transportation
Reports To: Transport Manager / Fleet Supervisor
Summary:
This role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of passengers or goods using either light vehicles (e.g., vans, SUVs, small trucks) or heavy buses. The driver must adhere to all traffic laws and company procedures while providing excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a light vehicle or heavy bus in various road and weather conditions.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (e.g., tires, lights, brakes, oil, fuel) and report any defects or issues.
• Plan routes effectively to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit (for light vehicle/goods transport).
• Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle, both inside and out.
• Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations, including hours-of-service logs.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
• Handle cash fares or validate tickets/passes as required.
• Report accidents, traffic violations, or emergencies immediately to management.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with the appropriate class (e.g., Class D for vans, Class B or A with passenger endorsement for buses).
• Clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a professional driver.
• Excellent knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations, and defensive driving techniques.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Patience, punctuality, and reliability.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Good physical health and ability to assist passengers if needed.
