Light Vehicle / Van Driver

1. Job Summary
The Light Vehicle / Van Driver will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods, documents, or personnel in a light commercial vehicle (van or light truck) within the UAE. The driver must ensure vehicle safety, adhere to all traffic laws, and represent the company professionally.
2. Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Safe Driving & Vehicle Operation: Operate a van or light vehicle (3-5 Ton capacity) safely and defensively in various traffic and weather conditions.
• Route Planning & Navigation: Use knowledge of UAE roads and navigation tools to plan efficient daily routes, ensuring timely deliveries or services.
• Cargo/Passenger Handling: Securely load, unload, and properly stow cargo to prevent damage. If transporting people, ensure passenger safety and comfort.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections (check oil, fuel, brakes, tires, lights, etc.). Report any mechanical faults or damage to the supervisor immediately.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate logs (e.g., trip sheets, delivery manifests, fuel records) as required by company policy.
• Customer Service: Interact with clients, customers, or site personnel in a courteous and professional manner. Act as a positive representative of the company.
• Compliance: Strictly adhere to all UAE traffic rules, regulations, and company safety policies. Ensure all necessary documents (license, registration, insurance) are present and valid.
• Initiative & Reliability: Work independently with minimal supervision, manage time effectively, and be a reliable team member.

3. Requirements & Qualifications

• Mandatory License: A valid UAE driving license for 3 Ton, 4 Ton, or 5 Ton vehicles. (License type must match the vehicle to be operated).
• Experience: Proven experience as a van driver or driver of light commercial vehicles. Previous experience in logistics, delivery, or a similar field is a strong advantage.
• Road Knowledge: Good practical knowledge of road networks, major routes, and traffic patterns in Sharjah, Dubai, and the wider UAE.
• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to handle loading/unloading, sit for extended periods, and work in a climate that can be very hot.
• Safety Awareness: A strong safety-conscious attitude with a clean or near-clean driving record.
• Availability: Immediate joiners are highly preferred. Must be flexible with working hours as per the job demands.
• Additional Skills:
• Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics (to identify issues).
• Good communication skills (English/Arabic/Urdu/Hindi is often beneficial).
• Punctuality, honesty, and a professional demeanor.
