Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Driving and Transportation

: Safely operate light vehicles to transport goods, materials, or passengers to various locations as per schedule or as directed. Ensure the timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection

: Perform daily checks of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition (oil levels, tire pressure, brakes, lights, etc.). Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or damage to the supervisor. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle at all times.

Navigation and Route Planning

: Plan and follow the most efficient routes to reach destinations on time, considering traffic, road conditions, and other factors. Utilize GPS or other navigation tools to assist in route planning and to ensure timely arrivals.

Documentation and Reporting

: Maintain accurate records of daily trips, deliveries, vehicle maintenance, fuel usage, and any other relevant documentation. Report any incidents, delays, or other issues to management immediately.

Customer Interaction

: Interact with customers or clients in a polite and professional manner during deliveries or pick-ups. Ensure a high level of customer service, providing assistance when needed.

Safety and Compliance

: Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies while driving. Ensure that the vehicle is always roadworthy and compliant with local regulations, including regular maintenance schedules.

Emergency Response

: Respond quickly and effectively in case of an accident or breakdown, following the appropriate emergency procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:

Valid Driver's License

: A valid light vehicle driver's license for the appropriate class of vehicle.

Driving Experience

: Proven experience as a light vehicle driver, with a clean driving record.

Safety Conscious

: Knowledge of and adherence to road safety regulations and best practices.

Time Management

: Ability to plan and manage delivery schedules effectively.

Customer Service

: Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers.

Physical Fitness

: Ability to lift and move goods if required.

Problem-Solving

: Ability to handle unexpected issues such as traffic, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions.
