Brief description of the position purpose

The Lifting/Rigging Supervisor is responsible for the safe execution of all lifting and rigging activities on-site. This role ensures that lifting operations are planned, coordinated, and executed in accordance with approved lifting plans, safety standards, and local regulatory requirements. The Supervisor acts as the frontline leader, ensuring all lifting personnel are competent, equipment is certified, and risks are effectively managed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise and coordinate all lifting and rigging operations on the project site.

2. Review and implement approved lifting plans in coordination with the Appointed Person. 3. Ensure lifting equipment, including cranes, slings, shackles, and spreader beams, is certified and inspected before use.

4. Conduct pre-lift inspections and toolbox talks with rigging and lifting teams.

5. Verify ground conditions and ensure lifting areas are properly barricaded and controlled. 6. Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, banksmen, and signalmen to ensure clear communication and execution of the lift.

7. Monitor compliance with HSE requirements and stop unsafe activities immediately.

8. Maintain daily records of lifting activities, inspections, and equipment used.

9. Ensure all lifting operations are conducted within the Safe Working Load (SWL) and radius limits.

10. Participate in incident investigations involving lifting equipment or operations.

11. Support the preparation of Permit to Work (PTW) and ensure all safety documentation is in place.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist in developing and reviewing lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments in coordination with the Appointed Person and Project Engineers

2. Ensure that all rigging and lifting operations are carried out safely

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

? High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Mechanical/Civil Engineering is a plus.

? Certified Lifting Supervisor (from a third-party approved by DM / Trakhees and other relevant local authorities).

? Valid Rigging & Slinging Certificate

? Basic knowledge of Crane Operations, load charts, and lifting equipment
