Company Overview

We are a sub-subcontractor operating in the Oil & Gas sector, delivering vital engineering and construction services to major projects across Qatar. To strengthen our site operations, we are hiring an experienced

Lifting Engineer

to oversee and manage all lifting activities, ensuring compliance with project, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Role Overview

The

Lifting Engineer

will be responsible for planning, supervising, and certifying all lifting operations on Oil & Gas project sites. This role requires strong technical expertise in lifting procedures, crane operations, and rigging methods, with strict adherence to HSE regulations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and approve

Lifting Plans and Method Statements

in compliance with project and regulatory standards. Supervise lifting operations involving cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment. Conduct risk assessments for lifting activities and implement mitigation measures. Ensure lifting equipment certifications and third-party approvals are up to date. Coordinate with HSE, Site Engineers, and Supervisors to enforce safety protocols. Provide technical guidance to riggers and lifting supervisors on complex operations. Investigate lifting incidents/near misses and implement corrective actions. Liaise with client representatives and ensure all lifting operations receive necessary approvals.
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

7-10 years of experience

in lifting engineering within Oil & Gas projects (Qatar/GCC preferred). Strong knowledge of

international lifting standards

(BS, LOLER, API, ASME). Proficiency in preparing and reviewing lifting calculations and drawings. Certified Lifting Engineer / Appointed Person (CPCS/LEEA or equivalent). Valid H2S and Confined Space training.
