Position Overview
Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment is hiring a skilled Legal Counsel to manage corporate legal matters, contract negotiations, and data privacy compliance across multiple markets. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to advise on commercial and intellectual property law while also serving as the company's Data Privacy Officer, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements in all countries of operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including service, consultancy, distribution, leasing, and sponsorship agreements
• Advise business units on legal risks and strategies related to regulatory, compliance, and intellectual property matters
• Oversee the company's trademark and brand usage in alignment with global IP protection standards
• Serve as the Data Privacy Officer, guiding internal stakeholders on data protection, privacy regulations, and ethical data handling
• Develop and deliver privacy awareness initiatives, training sessions, and internal workshops
• Coordinate with group legal, compliance, and IT security teams to implement privacy-first strategies
• Manage communication and responses to regulatory authorities during audits or data-related inquiries

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university
• 5+ years of legal experience with a strong track record in commercial law and data privacy
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience specifically in data protection and compliance
• Familiarity with regional and international privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, DIFC DPL, ADGM DPL)
• Experience using data privacy tools such as OneTrust or Securiti.AI is preferred
• Strong English drafting and communication skills, with high attention to detail
• Proactive, solution-oriented legal advisor with excellent stakeholder management abilities
