The Legal Counsel will provide in-house legal expertise to Life Care Clinic, ensuring compliance with Qatari laws, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) regulations, and corporate governance standards. The role is responsible for safeguarding the clinic's legal interests, supporting management in decision-making, and mitigating risks related to contracts, employment, licensing, and patient services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Legal Advisory & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with Qatari Labour Law, MoPH licensing, and other healthcare regulations. Advise management on legal risks and regulatory obligations affecting clinic operations
Monitor changes in healthcare laws and regulations, advising management on their impact.
2. Contracts & Agreements
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (suppliers, service providers, employees, NDAs, partnerships)
Ensure all agreements safeguard the clinic's interests.
Maintain a contracts archive for accountability and legal reference.
3. Dispute Resolution & Litigation
Represent the clinic in disputes, labour complaints, and other legal proceedings.
Draft responses and submissions to ministries, courts, or regulatory authorities.
Engage in settlement discussions and arbitration to protect the clinic's reputation.
4. Employment & Labour Law
Support HR in drafting employment contracts, probation/termination notices, and disciplinary actions in compliance with Qatari Labour Law.
Provide guidance on visas, sponsorships, NOCs, and employee entitlements. Handle employee disputes and represent the clinic before the Ministry of Labour if needed.
5. Corporate Governance
Ensure adherence to Articles of Association and board directives.
Prepare/review board resolutions, shareholder agreements, and minutes.
Advise management on shareholders' rights and legal responsibilities.
6. Risk Management & Insurance
Identify operational legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Provide advice on malpractice liability, patient rights, and insurance policies.
Ensure compliance with professional indemnity and liability insurance coverage.
7. Government & Regulatory
Liaison
Serve as the clinic's legal representative with MoPH, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Commerce, and other government bodies.
Handle all legal documentation for licensing, renewals, and approvals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LLB, JD, or equivalent).
*Licensed lawyer eligible to practice in Qatar or internationally recognized jurisdiction.
Minimum 3 -5 years' experience in corporate or healthcare legal practice.
Strong understanding of Qatar Labour Law, healthcare regulation, and commercial contracts.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Fluency in English; Arabic preferred.
High integrity and ability to manage confidential information.
