The Role
  • Create, implement, administer and enforce policies, procedures and regulations required for the Institution to operate in accordance with the applicable legislation and regulations. \xe2\x80\xa2 Draft and review all types of legal documents for the Institution including but not limited to MOUs, contracts, PoAs, policies to preserve legal interests of the Institution, and ensure compliance with the applicable domestic and international laws, rules and regulations. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide legal support to the departments of the Institution on general matters including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, human resources and governance. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide accurate, timely and proactive expert legal advice and opinion to the Board, Executive Director and departments of the Institution, to minimize legal risks / implications and aid in decision making. \xe2\x80\xa2 Keep up to date with relevant laws and regulations and monitor compliance with legislation, regulations and internal policies. \xe2\x80\xa2 Advise departments on current risk and compliance, highlight and escalate areas of concern and contribute to robust and effective compliance controls within the Institution and collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance. \xe2\x80\xa2 Register and protect the Institution\xe2\x80\x99s intellectual property rights including its trademarks and provide advice on IP related issues. \xe2\x80\xa2 Act as a liaison with government bodies and handle any complaints made against the Institution. \xe2\x80\xa2 Any other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
Requirements
  • At least 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a similar role ideally within non-for-profit sector \xe2\x80\xa2 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in law \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong legal experience in corporate and commercial matters \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent problem solving, analytical and business intelligence skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong organisation skills and ability to multitask and deliver on deadlines \xe2\x80\xa2 IT Literate \xe2\x80\x93 MS Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook) \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong attention to details \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
