Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly competent LEEA Appointed Person for Lifting Operations with ADNOC Offshore experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and overseeing all lifting and hoisting activities to ensure safe and efficient operations in accordance with industry regulations and best practices. The Appointed Person will collaborate closely with project teams, crane operators, and other stakeholders to ensure that lifting operations are executed smoothly and without compromise to safety. Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize lifting operations in coordination with project teams, site managers, and relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough assessments of lift requirements, taking into account load weights, dimensions, center of gravity, and other critical factors.
- Prepare comprehensive lift plans, including method statements, risk assessments, and necessary documentation.
- Determine suitable lifting equipment, accessories, and hardware required for specific tasks.
- Liaise with crane operators, rigging teams, and other personnel involved in lifting operations to ensure clear communication and understanding of tasks.
- Verify that all lifting equipment, including cranes, slings, shackles, and hooks, is properly inspected, maintained, and certified before use.
- Ensure compliance with LEEA guidelines, LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations), and other relevant industry standards.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess lifting conditions, potential hazards, and proper rigging procedures.
- Collaborate with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) personnel to enforce safe work practices and address any safety concerns related to lifting operations.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of lifting operations, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide guidance and training to crane operators and riggers on safe lifting practices and proper equipment usage.
- Keep abreast of industry developments, regulations, and best practices related to lifting operations.
- Maintain accurate records of lifting operations, including lift plans, risk assessments, and equipment certifications.
- Participate in incident investigations, providing expertise on lifting-related incidents as needed.
- LEEA Accredited Person qualification is required.
- Extensive experience as an Appointed Person for Lifting Operations in diverse industries, including construction, manufacturing, or heavy engineering.
- In-depth understanding of LEEA guidelines, and other relevant industry standards.
- Proficient in creating detailed lift plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging techniques, and safe working loads.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety excellence.
- Prior experience in supervising lifting operations and providing guidance to crane operators and riggers.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software applications.
- Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
