Job Description

Role Purpose: Faculty members within the rank of Lecturer/IT Manager are required to carry out allocated teaching courses, scholarly activities, services to GBSs and administrative responsibility as per GBS roles and allocation from time to time. As an IT Manager he needs to assess adequacy of hardware and software requirement for academic & academic support services.

Main Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
  • Collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base.
  • Setting and grading assignments, tests, and exams.
  • Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.
  • Participating in training opportunities and initiatives at the institution.
  • Providing support to students and other colleagues.
  • Staying current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.
  • Perform periodical review of course syllabi to maintain consistency across the faculty in the department.
  • Ensure consistency in course syllabus, weekly plan, assessment methods, and course file management.
  • Record advisement of courses of academically at-risk students and maintain follow-up action plan for each of such students.
  • Ensure effective instructors’ skills, communication skills, command on the subject etc. and pro-actively detect early warning signals (if any) in effective classroom management.
  • Review student feedback on teaching performance.
  • Advise regular students and monitor at-risk students for improving academic performance.

Maintain continuous improvement of activities under:
  • Instructional resources
  • Learning assessment and closing the loop
  • Usage of library
  • Usage of IT facilities in classrooms
  • Arranging workshop for corporates and students

IT RESPONSIBILITY
  • To assess adequacy of hardware and software requirement for academic & academic support services.
  • Procurement of IT equipment’s, stock auditing and reports.
  • To regularly upgrade existing IT resources for meeting the future requirements on year-to-year basis.
  • To provide regular updates of information to users on up-gradation and implementation of various new IT resources.
  • To procure the updated antivirus, firewall and other protective devices for preventing external intrusions.
  • To promote paperless office for eco-friendly environment and proper disposable of hardware equipment’s.
  • To equip class rooms with adequate audio, video & internet facilities.
  • To provide online support to academics, departments, faculty, staff and students through portal services.
  • To maintain hardware in proper working condition for the smooth operation of IT equipment to facilitate academic and departmental operations.
  • To develop online feedback forms for departments, faculty, staff and students to collect data.
  • To train and orient faculty, staff & students for effective use of IT resources.
  • To maintain backup on regular basis onsite and off-site locations.
  • Evaluate vendor products in hardware, software and telecommunications equipment and recommend purchases consistent with short and long term objectives.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Master’s Degree as per position requirement.
  • PhD preferred
  • Ideally 5 years of teaching experience and IT related role in higher education.
  • Certification in IT related courses
  • Proven track record in academics & research.
  • A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the learning environment and teaching methodology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
