JOB PURPOSE

The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, College of Health Sciences seeks to appoint a Lecturer to join the team in the Spring semester of the Academic Year 2025/2026.




The Lecturer will responsible for conducting laboratory sessions in Clinical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Hematology and Blood Banking, Phlebotomy, Molecular Genetics along with general courses (Biology lab & Human Anatomy and Physiology lab).

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Develop, update and teach practical courses in Clinical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Hematology and Blood Banking, Phlebotomy, Molecular Genetics among other practical courses. Contribute to administrative tasks and community services at the department, college, and university levels as required by his/her superiors.

Assist with mentoring undergraduate students during their research projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Required Skills:

Considerable practical experience in diagnostic laboratory medicine at a reputable hospital. Significant teaching experience in Medical Laboratory Science practical courses. Evidence-based theoretical and practical knowledge of current diagnostic lab-work related protocols and procedures. Excellent and up to date computer literacy. Excellent communication and presentation skills, proficiency in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus. Ability to successfully manage class sessions with students from diverse backgrounds. Experience in clinical training of students majoring in medical laboratory science is a big plus. Practical experience in diagnostic laboratory quality control and management is a plus.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate should have a BSc degree in Medical Lab Sciences and an MSc degree in one of the core areas of MLS form a reputable academic institution. A minimum of two years' clinical and/or teaching experience after the MSc degree is essential. Considerable practical experience in laboratory medicine at a reputable hospital is a plus. Professional certification/licensing from an internationally recognized organization in the general field of MLS (e.g., ASCP) is a plus. English language proficiency is essential.
