Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

The department expects the successful candidate to be able to:Teach journalism and digital media courses

in Arabic.

Contribute to curriculum development and keep pace with the evolving trends in the job market for journalism and digital media. Supervise graduation projects in the journalism program. Utilize their professional experience and network to guide students toward successful internships and jobs in the field of journalism and digital media. Participate in committees at the department, college, and university levels. Any other responsibilities assigned by the head of the department.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

At least a master's degree from a highly reputable international university, combined with outstanding practical professional experience of at least 7 years in reputable media institutions. Ability to teach

in Arabic

. Documented record of outstanding professional practical experience, demonstrating relevant skills (examples of professional activities and achievements in the field). Proven record of professional development in applied skills relevant to the field of journalism and digital media, including high-quality workshops and training courses. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in both Arabic and English). Familiarity with educational technology and the ability to adopt modern teaching methods that align with Qatar University's excellence themes, which focus on digitally-enriched education, learner-centered education, and experiential education. Willingness to work collaboratively and within teams. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Preference will be given to candidates with university-level teaching experience.


In addition to professional experience and/or academic/creative activities in the field of specialization, the candidate is expected to teach effectively undergraduate students, engage in research and creative activities, and participate in community service and outreach.
The department seeks a candidate whose teaching style resonates with a diverse student body from various backgrounds.
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the ability to participate in the department's interdisciplinary teaching, research, and creative activities.

Besides teaching their specialization, the successful candidate is expected to be able to teach general mass communication courses

6. A copy of the Master's degree (and Ph.D. if applicable), and a copy of the detailed transcript for the Master's (and Ph.D. if applicable) if graduated from an institution where the degree was completed by coursework. If the degree was not completed by coursework, a certified letter from the degree-granting institution clarifying this should be attached).
7. Any additional documents relevant to the application.
