JOB PURPOSE

The Department of Chemistry, Col lege of Sciences is seeking a self-driven and dedicated Lecturer in Biochemistry or a closely related discipline to join our academic team in the academic year commencing September 2026. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in teaching both theoretical and practical Biochemistry courses at the university level, with strong hands-on expertise in laboratory techniques and instrumentation.


Priority will be given to UAE Nationals.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Deliver high-quality instruction in theoretical and practical Biochemistry courses, including coordinating laboratory sessions.

Provide academic and professional advising and mentorship to students, supporting their educational and professional development.

Participate in the design, review, and enhancement of academic programs and curricula within the department.

Contribute to the development and implementation of assessment tools and processes to evaluate student learning outcomes.

Support community outreach initiatives, student extracurricular activities.

Oversee laboratory operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and instructional support.

Maintain and manage laboratory equipment and instrumentation

Contribute to the development of instructional methodologies and integrate use of digital tools, IT systems, and AI-enhanced learning platforms.

Ensure laboratory health and safety protocols are implemented, regularly reviewed, and updated in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS

B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry from a recognized academic institution. Fluency in the English Language in both writing and orally. At least 1 year of teaching Biochemistry experimental/practical labs at the University level. Proficiency in using biochemistry techniques and instruments. Preferred experience in Microplate readers, IR, NMR, Raman, and Circular Dichroism (CD) Instrument. Experience in Food Chemistry, and Quality Control. Preferred knowledge in data acquisition using LabView.
