About the Role

We, at GEMS International School, are looking for a qualified and experienced Learning Systems Administrator to join us.

Working as a systems engineer at GEMS International School, Al Khail, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining the educational technology systems and software used throughout the school. You will support the IT Department in enhancing the overall learning experience by leveraging technology to ensure robust systems and procedures.

Due to the nature of the post, a genuine interest in education and the growth of young learners is essential.

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

Collaborate with educators, administrators, and IT teams to identify the educational needs and goals of a K-12 school

Design and develop custom software applications, learning management systems (LMS), and other educational technology solutions.

Integrate various software and hardware components to create a seamless educational infrastructure.

Ensure that systems comply with educational standards and guidelines

Oversee the installation and deployment of educational systems primarily focusing on Managebac, Toddle, iSAMS and GEMS IP suites.

Create and maintain of rosters and class lists across all learning platforms

Train teachers, staff, and students on how to use the technology effectively.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during implementation.

Work with Heads of Schools to support with the School Timetabling and to integrate these within respective software

Perform regular maintenance, updates, and security patches to keep systems running smoothly.

Provide technical support to educators, students and administration, addressing their questions and concerns.

Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.

Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in educational technology.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and platforms to improve the learning experience.

Conduct cost-benefit analysis for potential technology investments.

Qualifications, Experience and skills required

Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

A minimum of 6 years relevant work experience, preferably in an educational context

Experience in educational technology, software development, and system administration.

Proficiency in programming languages, database management, and network technologies.

Experience of MacOs and hardware essential

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of educational pedagogy and learning theories is a plus.

Familiarity with relevant educational standards and regulations.
