Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and small group academic and social support to students with learning difficulties or special educational needs (SEN).
- Assist teachers in modifying and adapting classroom materials and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Support classroom management strategies and supervise students during lessons, breaks, and field trips.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to progress reports and meetings.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, SENCO, and parents regarding student development and needs.
- Participate in professional development sessions and training related to special education support.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum high school diploma; a degree or certification in special education, teaching assistance, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and behavior management skills.
- Patience, empathy, flexibility, and a proactive attitude.
- Basic understanding of child development, learning styles, and inclusive educational strategies.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to support learning.
