JOB Summary

Canrig is currently seeking experienced Drilling Equipment Technicians with a specific focus on Canrig drilling equipment. The ideal candidate will be adept at inspection, maintenance, overhaul, and recertification of Canrig drilling equipment. This position will require the technician to work autonomously, making informed decisions based on a deep understanding of the equipment, to ensure optimal operations and safety standards are maintained at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a CANRIG Drilling Equipment Technician, your responsibilities include:

\xc2\xb7 Loading and unloading equipment from transport containers at customer locations, ensuring readiness for equipment rig up.

\xc2\xb7 Climbing the derrick to install the Torque Track system while applying the appropriate torque to all nuts and bolts.

\xc2\xb7 Utilizing the hoisting system to lift the Top Drive system, installing the control panel, and securing mud hoses, including tightening hoses with hammer unions, using a 10-15 pound hammer as required.

\xc2\xb7 Installing the driller\'s control panel, running cables to the power unit and top drive unit, and connecting fuel and air lines along with power cables to the drilling rig\'s power unit.

\xc2\xb7 Conducting pre-established tests to ensure the proper functionality of the top drive unit and promptly making any necessary adjustments.

\xc2\xb7 Providing instruction and monitoring to drillers and drilling crews, ensuring safe operation of the top drive equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Performing routine maintenance on power and top drive units, including changing oils and filters, tightening bolts, replacing parts, and conducting repairs to maintain the units\' proper function.

\xc2\xb7 Upon completion of the well, executing the reverse procedure, including rigging down hoses, control cables, top drive unit, torque track, and driller\'s panel.

\xc2\xb7 Thoroughly cleaning all equipment and loading it into storage containers for transportation to the next site.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

\xc2\xb7 Conducting regular inspections of Canrig drilling equipment to identify potential issues and defects, and implementing appropriate maintenance procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Overhauling and recertifying equipment components as necessary to meet industry and company standards.

\xc2\xb7 Maintaining meticulous records of all inspections, maintenance, and repair activities in compliance with regulatory standards.

\xc2\xb7 Promoting and adhering to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

\xc2\xb7 Continuously updating your knowledge with the latest technological advancements and best practices in drilling equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Diagnosing and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.

\xc2\xb7 Coordinating with other departments such as operations and logistics to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 High School Diploma or equivalent.

\xc2\xb7 Minimum of 10-Years hands-on experience maintaining drilling equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated knowledge of Canrig equipment

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated knowledge of drilling equipment inspection, maintenance, overhaul, and recertification processes.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work independently without supervision.

\xc2\xb7 Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with safety protocols in a drilling environment.

\xc2\xb7 Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 Technical certification or training specific to Canrig drilling equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Experience working in high-pressure, dynamic environments.

\xc2\xb7 Proven track record of achieving minimal equipment downtime.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to mentor and train junior technicians.

\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with other drilling equipment manufacturers.
