Lead Process Engineer

Job Description

Due to anticipated growth throughout 2022, Wood is currently inviting applications for a Lead Process Engineer with experience in oil&gas industry to be based in UAE

Below are some key responsibilities and duties:

+ Be able to lead and supervise Process Engineering Teams in Feasibility, Conceptual Studies, Pre - FEED, FEED and EPC Projects

+ Be willing to mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team

+ Undertake process design work of units as required, supervise and check works of assigned engineers on the project as appropriate

+ Execute process engineering activities within the budget and schedule, as well as maintaining technical integrity of the design

+ Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used conform with Client's requirements and / or those issued

+ Be responsible for the checking or approval of basis of design, process calculations, safety related calculations to develop the robust design

+ Review and approve Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, Equipment & Instrument specifications, Process Descriptions, cause, and Effect chart etc.

+ Review and approve dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study, etc.

+ Review and approve depressurization studies, flare load estimation and flare system design

+ Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed

+ Review and approve safety related calculations and provide input to HAZOP, SIL and other safety reviews as required

+ Identifying new methodology of work process required for higher productivity

+ Contribute where necessary to review of supplier quotations and reviews of the project

+ Ensure that requirements of Licensor's Secrecy Agreements are known and complied within the work performed

+ Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers

+ Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers, Engineering Manager / Discipline heads

+ As Lead Discipline Engineer, when assigned on projects, responsible for managing the team of engineers, designers, and delivering the engineering requirements of the project

+ Assist project team in the preparation of planning package, scheduling, weekly reporting etc.

+ Assist as required in the preparation of pre - commissioning, commission procedures and operating Manuals

+ Provided assistance in Manhours estimation and scheduling for proposals

Proposals experience

+ Significant experience in preparation of proposals for Studies, FEED, Detail Engineering projects.

+ Experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, Gas Treating and Sulphur processing, Refining, Petrochemical, Utilities and Offsites, Flare And Relief Design, Waste Water Treatment

+ Review of ITT/RFQ documentation and interpret the scope of work for small, medium and large size projects

+ Take ownership and command of proposal, including written proposals, presentations etc.

+ Prepare / collate manhours for the proposal

+ Collaborating with centres of excellence and other affiliate offices as required to prepare a winning proposal

+ Liaise with subcontractors, vendors & OEMs to obtain the costs for their services

+ Liaise with technology providers / Licensors as required for the proposals

+ Provide customer responses (including expressions of interest, presentations, etc)

+ Ensure that the proposal is compliant and delivered on time.

+ Prepare/Review/analyze proposal sections for consistency and clarity, compliance with solicitation, requirements, and alignment with proposed solutions and themes and writes/re-writes proposal sections as necessary to deliver high-quality, winning proposals.

+ Respond to requests for clarification

+ Prepare and deliver presentations (pre-proposal or post-proposal) to Clients and other internal stakeholders

+ Take on responsibility of Proposal Lead or Proposal Coordinator as required due to workload of proposals team including (but not limited to) the following:

+ Develop and implement the proposal management plan (responsibility/compliance matrix)

+ Develop and implement the proposal schedule

+ Support and contribute to the continual improvement of proposal procedures and processes

+ Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering

+ Minimum Experience of 15+ years in Oil and Gas industry

+ Minimum Experience of 10 years with Engineering Consultancy

+ Proficient in Process Simulation software's such as HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet, Pipesim, OLGA etc. and should be a subject matter expert

+ Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software

+ Experience of working in a multi - project / multi - disciplined environment and throughout all engineering and design phases of projects
