This critical role will be responsible for the leadership and management of the design process on one or several projects and applying sound engineering principles in the development of design solutions and the production of contract documentation.
Responsibilities
Paramount to success within this varied role will include;
Collaborating with team members and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy, and to achieve project targets.
Proactively identifying, assessing and mitigating project risks, and resolving problems through objective and systematic analysis.
Ensuring QA/QC procedures are being implemented for the project, and work with the project team to close out all QA/QC comments/issues raised.
Providing leadership in research, planning, design and development of building engineering systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing and electrical, by providing guidance and instruction to the designated Level 1, 2, and 3 project engineers.
Supervising the Level 1, 2 and 3 project engineers on a project basis to perform engineering evaluations, feasibility studies, conceptual and final designs, cost estimates, and engineering calculations.
Proactively communicating identified issues and progress against project targets to key stakeholders, including appropriate and complete communication with the client
Ensuring that documentation, calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and BIM models are accurate, include references to codes and standards, and are stored as per the correct project number for effective retrieval from any KEO office location.
Liaising with Team Leader, Regional A&E Services Director, and Design Leaders to ensure sufficient, skilled project resources to deliver to project targets.
Mentoring and supporting the development of engineers working on projects under your control, providing input to performance and talent reviews, where appropriate.
In partnership with Design Leaders and Team Leader, conduct reviews of engineering options and evaluations to validate the robust nature of new products and design solutions.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision the successful applicant will bring a minimum of 15 years post graduate experience in engineering design partnered with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
Membership of an internationally recognized professional Institution i.e. C. Eng. M.I.C.E. or P.E. and professional registration is preferred.
