Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Lead Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the nursing operations and clinical activities including but not limited to patient treatments, procedures, medications, and clinical education to ensure delivery of high quality and safe patient care in line with DOH/DHA and MH policies, procedures, guidelines and standards
Responsibilities
Nursing Care
Acts as point of contact within the Nursing function regarding clinical activities including but not limited to treatments, procedures, medications, and patient education.
Provides leadership and assigns work based on department needs, sets clear expectations, and monitors performance of nurses.
Evaluates and assesses the patients\xe2\x80\x99 needs and reports to the line manager to ensure daily efficient implementation of nursing operations in line with the asset objectives.
Informs patients and their families on the treatment plans and procedures to be conducted to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
Provides education to patients and their families on areas including but not limited to weight control, blood pressure, diabetes management and nutritional requirements to enhance the patient\xe2\x80\x99s lifestyle.
Participates in the revival of patients in the event of collapse or cardiac arrest if and when required.
Provides guidance to clinical teams in areas including but not limited to male and female assessments and provision of dietary and diabetes related education if and when required.
Ensures safety and hygiene standards in the assessment and treatment areas are met in adherence to the established guidelines and infection control policies and procedures.
Prioritizes caseload in accordance with primary healthcare principles and the available resources to ensure coverage of all cases.
Develops monthly rota and daily nursing assignments including working days and annual leave.
Makes decisions on nursing and patient care activities, as well as nurse staffing in close collaboration with the relevant medical caregivers.
Develops and maintains clinical records in an accurate and timely manner.

Provides supervision, guidance, on the job training and shares continuous constructive feedback for direct reports if required.
Maintains professional license as required by DOH/DHA. Pro-actively identifies and meets self-development requirements for professional growth by developing and sustaining own knowledge, clinical skills, and professional awareness.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience post qualification in the relevant field inclusive of 2 years in a supervisory role
Completion of specialty qualification as per the recognized specialty certificate (DOH/DHA guidelines)
Certification and Licensure
DOH/DHA License
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
ACLS, PALS Preferred
