About the Job

Job holders at this level are responsible for the design and implementation of the innovation strategies for various product groups while managing the activities of different levels. They must have intimate customer and market knowledge possessing strong command of relative value proposition of competitive products and technologies. To be considered the scientific authority figure with responsibility to evaluate and approve overall technical concepts.

Key Accountabilities

Ensure that product development strategies and related strategic plans are developed and implemented, which are aligned with the business plan

Maintain an understanding and critically evaluate strategies of competitors and emerging technologies

Manage and monitor the entire product lifecycle from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on technical matters

Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of work for more complex/high valued projects to ensure effective project management and achievement of key performance indicators

Conduct approval of technical concepts and lead the identification of product development opportunities in all product areas and applications to facilitate the discovery of untapped revenue generating areas for Borouge

Develop and seek approval for the innovation /IPR strategy for the product group in line with the global standards and Borouge\xe2\x80\x99s strategic objectives.

Lead/explore new technologies, and concepts which will enhance the product development processes in order to achieve Borouge\xe2\x80\x99s business objectives

Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies while exploring new applications to service the unspecified market requirements and to replace existing application to facilitate achievement of cost efficiencies and sustainability.

Motivate, coach, support team members to enhance the process competence to deliver research project objectives as per world class quality standards at high speeds.

Customer

Develop and maintain effective relationships with all relevant internal departments and external entities such Local and Global Industry Specialists, business partners, consultants, local & government authorities etc. with highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner.

Carry out independent visits to customers; represent the Borouge technical team to external audience/ partners/ customer and exert significant influence on project direction to facilitate achievement of business objectives.

Interfaces

Collaborate with management and across other disciplines to define technical specifications; champion new ideas and act as an advisor to all internal departments and an expert to assist in resolving Borouge\xe2\x80\x99s complex and unique problems with significant impact on the business.

Take part in application marketing team meetings.

Minimum Requirements

PhD in Polymer Science & Technology or equivalent

At least 10 years experience in a similar environment

Expert understanding of Borouge\xe2\x80\x99s products, applications and business strategies or similar buisnesses

Excellent knowledge of polymer technologies, catalysts, and additives

Excellent knowledge of plastics processing, testing and analytical techniques

Excellent polymer structure \xe2\x80\x93 property \xe2\x80\x93 application relation knowledge for PE and PP

May have credit for patents, trade secrets and/or disclosures.

Certified in Project Management; i.e. PMP, etc.
