Due to anticipated growth throughout 2023, Wood is presently inviting Expressions of Interest for Lead Engineer-FGS/F&G Devices for our Abu Dhabi Engineering team. This role is subject to project award which is estimated to be in early 2023.

Technical Expertise:

+ Experience of managing large size (Minimum >30000 I/Os) and complex Fire & Gas System as part of an Integrated Control and Safety System for EPC Project

+ Preparation / Finalization of Control System Design Basis

+ Finalization of FGS as part of ICSS specification and amendment of COMPANY Design General specification

+ Finalization of Individual & Overall System Architecture for a Fire & Gas system having multiple distributed third-party system connectivity through Modbus TCP/IP and Interfaces with higher level application server through OPC Protocol

+ Finalization of Network Architecture inclusive of all network accessories and in compliance with latest OT security requirements

+ Finalization of existing F&G system's Modification Scope of works for existing F&G systems / Fire Alarm Systems

+ Experience on addressable loop wiring configuration to FACP

+ Knowledgeable in F&G devices and its latest technology

+ In-depth knowledge of following Fire Alarm & Gas Detection System / Control systems:

+ EMERSON (Delta V)

+ Yokogawa (Centum VP & Prosafe RS)

+ Honeywell (FSC, C300 & Safety Manager)

+ Siemen (S7- 400).

+ Schneider (Triconex)

+ Rockwell Allen Bradley (PLC5, Control Logix)

+ Tyco (Simplex, MX Minerva)

+ Xtralis (VESDA (HSSD) System)

+ Consilium (CFD 5000 System)

+ Fire Suppression System (Inergen / CO2 / Deluge and Foam / FM200 system)

+ Det-tronics System (Gas Detection / Flame Detection System)

+ Knowledge of Third-party Interfaces through Modbus TCP/IP, OPC & IEC 61850

+ Preparation / Finalization of technical queries and Technical Bid Evaluation F&G PLCs from the following manufacturers:

+ EMERSON - Delta V

+ Yokogawa - Centum VP

+ Honeywell - C300

+ Siemens - PCS 7

+ Schneider - EVO

+ In depth knowledge of Island Mode of Operation for F&G system in case of failure of links to the rest of the safety network

+ In depth knowledge of Virtualization of large-scale control system network for the optimization of number of machines.

+ Undertake leading role in providing inputs to Design Review, HAZOP, Constructability Review, Changeover Workshop, Alarm Priority Implementations and Alarm Rationalization and SIL workshop.

+ Approval of engineering deliverables for F&G Devices, F&G Logic Validation Reports, FGS and ICS

+ Approval of Critical Control system Vendor document such as Functional Design Specification - Hardware and Software, F&G Logics, Network architecture and Control system architecture

+ Provide guidance in Factory Acceptance Test for F&G Systems equipment (System/ Marshalling/ Server / Network Cabinet, Hardware Consoles, HMI accessories etc.)

+ Provide solutions to problems/anomalies in Integrated Factory Acceptance Test for New Control Systems with other Modbus TCP/IP and OPC connection to third-party systems

+ Approval for Control System Change over Philosophy & Method Statements

+ Technical Risk Assessment for Changeover from Existing control system to State of Art New Integrated Control system

+ Provide solutions to problems/anomalies detected in Site Acceptance Test & Integrated Site Acceptance Test for New Control Systems equipment's (DCS, ESD & F&G - System/ Marshalling / Server / Network Cabinet, Graphic Terminals, Hardware Consoles, HMI accessories, Asset Management System, Alarm Management system, etc.

+ Supervision to EPC CONTRACTOR during site execution for Control System Changeover

+ Review and finalization of site technical queries and approve way forward

+ Degree in Instrument or Electronics Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.)

+ Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred

+ Certified Functional Safety Engineer (TÜV Rheinland)

+ Minimum of 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry.

+ Minimum of 10 years' proven capability in an engineering design company.

+ Experience of sour gas service operations is a mandatory requirement.

+ Operational support / construction and commissioning experience.

+ Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.

+ Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
