Position Overview

Siemens Energy is a global leader in the field of Engineering with numerous projects around the ME region in various fields including Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Rotating Equipment and Value Added Electrical & Automation Solutions.

We are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer with medium voltage Motors and VFDs selection and integration experience in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical & Energy Sector. Job position to be located in UAE with responsibilities covering engineering activities across Middle East region.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Perform design activities as part of a team for designing of electrical systems including MV and LV motors, MV VFD\'s, MV, LV and AC/DC-Switchgear, Batteries, Rectifiers, Inverters, DC-DC Converters, HV and LV transformers, grid interfaces etc.
• Act as technical authority with respect to MV (and LV) variable frequency drives and electric motors with responsibilities for final equipment selection in projects.
• Provide technical support to sales/bid team in area of his expertise.
• Perform technical alignment with customers and suppliers assuring adequacy of selected equipment.
• Providing inputs for time schedule development for the electrical scope of works in projects.
• Supervision of deadlines, quality, and costs for the electrical scope of works.
• Responsibility for the design review process.
• Preparation of affiliated documents e.g. Data Sheets, Technical evaluations, Single Line Diagram, Typical drawings, Technical calculations etc.
• Preparation of technical specifications and inquiry documentation
• Participation in engineering and optimization of interfaces
• Review of contractors engineering
• Staying current on relevant technologies, fitting solutions to client needs and keeping ahead of competition with technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in power electrical engineering, Master\'s degree in electrical engineering will be considered as plus.
• MV (and LV) variable frequency drives and electric motors experience with min. 3 years of experience (min. 10 Years industry experience O&G) with international companies.
• Broad experience with industrial scale drives in power range of 1+ MW;
• Design experience in brownfield projects with \xe2\x80\x9cmotor to motor\xe2\x80\x9d or \xe2\x80\x9cturbine to motor\xe2\x80\x9d replacements as drivers for mechanical equipment (compressor, pump\xe2\x80\xa6).
• Deep understanding of project business including customer approach in typical Energy/Power, Oil & Gas / Petrochemical turbomachinery applications (compressor and pump drives);
• Intercultural sensitivity, in order to work for/in international team
• Self-motivation with high energy drive and business sense
• Capability of multitasking, with excellent organizational skills while assuring a high-quality work process
• Practical knowledge of software\'s like Eplan, AutoCAD software.
• Excellent spoken and written English language skills
