Job Description

Job title: Lead Editor Role Summary : Leading the tasks of translating and editing drafts and contents of books translated from or into Arabic in line with best practices and standards for improving translation and translation The number of translated books from and translated from Arabic. Lead the team's efforts to translate messages of high quality that serve the objectives of Arabic, cultural and heritage content in the dissemination of publishing and translation in various global markets in the field of business translation in accordance with the plans and strategies established.

Key Accountabilities: Contribute to the development of plans and strategies for the development and launch of translation programs and initiatives with the aim of supporting the translation movement and increasing the number of translated books from or into the Arabic language, in line with the priorities and objectives of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language and the Administration. Contribute to setting standards, procedures and policies for translating books from and into Arabic in line with best translation practices and standards. Lead the review, proofreading, editing and correction of errors, wording and language using specified means and sources with the aim of translating and publishing books that comply with the level of quality and expectations required. Lead the planning and organization of translation, editing and proofreading of contents and books in accordance with the established style, standards, policies, requirements and details of translation and in line with set timelines and goals. Review and provide recommendations and approvals of book contents prior to translation, production and publication and oversee coordination of related tasks and responsibilities with translation editors on the team. Review, evaluate and edit all content, manuscripts and drafts submitted for translation, and coordinate with publishers, translators, partners and other relevant stakeholders to ensure accuracy and consistency of books in various languages. Managing and supervising the updating of the platform and registry of Arab translators into and out of Arabic to broaden outreach and enhance the translation of Arabic works.

Education & Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Arts, Media, Culture, Translation, Publishing or equivalent. Experience Criteria: Minimum 5 years in the field of publishing and editing, or in the field of translation, or its equivalent. Previous experience in a leading publishing organization is preferred.
