Role & Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Adopt standard safe work practices and procedures in accordance with the Safety Management Systems and safety policies.

\xc2\xb7 Eliminate or report workplace hazards, take part in safety drills and other activities and support the work of safety representatives and committees.

\xc2\xb7 Conduct activities in accordance with environmental policies, codes and guidelines; in particular, minimise energy and material usage in the workplace.

\xc2\xb7 Continuously communicate to contractors expectations for safety and the environment.

\xc2\xb7 Recognise good safety and environmental performance, and correct poor performance.

\xc2\xb7 Contribute to Project Strategy.

\xc2\xb7 Provide timely summary to Project Manager to assist in bid decision.

\xc2\xb7 Provide management, administration and co-ordination of tenders

\xc2\xb7 Liaise with Project Management and Controls Group regarding scope of supply, resources and project estimate data

\xc2\xb7 Review Contract Commercial Conditions and structure commercial section of Tender documents.

\xc2\xb7 Propose methods to mitigate risk.

\xc2\xb7 Analyse Commercial Offers.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure proposals comply with Project requirements and procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Negotiate proposals and finalise award of contracts with Contractors.

\xc2\xb7 Provide contractual / commercial advice to Project.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure appropriate policies are followed.

\xc2\xb7 Assist Project / Construction Manager in management of Terms & Conditions, negotiation and finalisation of Construction Contracts and Variations (if required)

\xc2\xb7 Perform Contractors claim evaluation (if required)

\xc2\xb7 Provide appropriate level of training on commercial awareness issues for the Project (if required).

\xc2\xb7 Provide timely and relevant commercial/legal advice to the Project support groups.

\xc2\xb7 Assist the Legal/Commercial department in resolving claims/litigation management (if required).

\xc2\xb7 Ensure Site Contracts comply with Group Insurance policies

\xc2\xb7 Review contract conditions.

\xc2\xb7 Negotiate contract terms.

\xc2\xb7 Prepare agreements.

\xc2\xb7 Review secrecy/confidentiality agreements.

\xc2\xb7 Provide contractual interpretation and advice.

\xc2\xb7 Negotiate Contracts with Contractors.

\xc2\xb7 Review Client Supplied documentation (ITT)

\xc2\xb7 Prepare Contract Strategy, Writing Plan and Schedule (PEM for Tendering)

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate Contract preparation process with assigned Managers

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate input from all required disciplines regarding the definition of; scope of supply, resources, cost estimate, schedule, third party involvement and commercial arrangement.

Qualifications

Education \xe2\x80\x93 Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

\xc2\xb7 Any bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Engineering

\xc2\xb7 Commercial management experience within the Engineering Industry

\xc2\xb7 Tertiary qualified as QS / Engineer / Lawyer.

\xc2\xb7 Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).

\xc2\xb7 Sound knowledge of Contract Law / Construction Contracts / International Contracting.

\xc2\xb7 Builds a desire to take responsibility, work together and co-operate within and between teams. Creates a climate where people feel involved and valued, and where goals are shared.

\xc2\xb7 Sets demanding goals for self and others and is dissatisfied with average performance. Makes full use of own time and resources. Sees a task through to completion irrespective of obstacles and setbacks.
