About the role We are recruiting for Lead Compliance Officer, to be based in Doha, Qatar. The Lead Compliance Officer will assist Regulatory Affairs Management Team in the day to day operations of the department and to take the lead in ensuring various national and international approvals are kept abreast of. The role holder will also be required to follow up on correspondence from the Regulatory Authorities and ensure timely and accurate responses to any queries. Specific responsibilities for the role include:
  • Monitor the conformance to the company management programme ensuring adherence to local and international operational requirements.
  • Identify required data used to monitor flight operational regulatory conformance & performance, analyze trends and advise the concerned departments if there will be implications to QR Operations.
  • Assist in various projects involving Regulatory Affairs and takes the lead in ensuring various timeframes are adhered to and goals met.
  • Establish strong working relationships with various departments (Aeropolitical Affairs, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Safety et c) and key internal departments in order to support the introduction of new routes and ports.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to the departments functional requirements and make sure that correspondence between Regulatory Authorities is distributed accordingly.
  • Prepare policies and procedures for review that may assist the department in streamlining its operations and applies LEAN principles as and where applicable.
  • Respond to queries pertaining to Regulatory Affairs and prepare responses to/from various Regulatory Authorities relating to Flight Operational issues.
  • Maintain a good working relationship and communication on new developments/processes within his/her department.
  • Ensure that any new technologies introduced into the airline which may require Regulatory cross-checking/tagging is introduced thoroughly and effectively
  • Keep himself / herself up-to-date with the developments in the regulatory framework through checking relevant websites / other sources and regular communication with the field.
  • Ensure various portals, websites and other affiliated regulatory medians which may affect operations are kept maintained and up-to-date.
  • Work closely with the Pilot Licensing department and other relevant departments to ensure Pilot Licenses and Crew Member Certificates are processed and sent to the QCAA with minimal delay.
  • Ensure team members are kept updated on new developments/processes within the Department.
  • Ensure Host Country Foreign Air Operators Certificates are filed and maintained for future reference.
  • Coordinate and follow-up on corrective measures/actions suggested by the Regulatory Affairs management to ensure that required actions are carried out in the given time frame.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications About you The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
  • High School Qualification/ Vocational Qualification/ Diploma or equivalent with minimum of 5 years job-related experience.
OR
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum of 4 years job-related experience.
  • Experience in an aviation regulatory based environment.
  • Experience in an aviation Quality Assurance or Safety environment.
  • Knowledge of an aviation Regulatory Affairs system and its workings.
  • Knowledge of QCAA, ICAO, EASA, FAA, UK CAA, IATA etc. Regulations and Standards.
  • Conversant with aviation terms and terminology.
  • Ability to draft concise responses to QCAA queries making references to the relevant regulations (e.g. QCAR AIR OPS) prior to sending to the applicable signatories.
  • Ability to analyze civil aviation requirements applicability.
  • Ability to manage projects identifying risks and opportunities.
