Job Specific Accountabilities
Technical Assurance
xc2xb7 Assists the Commissioning Team in Supervising EPC Contractor in the execution of Commissioning and Start up activities for the respective Discipline
xc2xb7 Monitoring of the area completion program.
xc2xb7 Ensure a safe and timely completion of Commissioning and Start up activities.
xc2xb7 Ensuring the development, execution, and completion of Operations Training Program
xc2xb7 Assists Lead SU Engineer in developing the schedules for the preparation of:
o Operations Manuals
o Training requirements and Schedule
o Training Material for Operations and Plant Availability
o Development of Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Start up procedures.
o Standard Operating Procedures
o Any other relevant documentation required to ensure safe and proper Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning and Start Up of the Wet End area.
xc2xb7 Monitors and safeguards that the project Commissioning and Start up activities are executed in accordance with Companys procedures.
xc2xb7 Advise of concerns and corrective actions implemented and closeout to the satisfaction of Company throughout the duration of the Project activities.
xc2xb7 Assist in facilitating the handover of the facilities from the EPC Contractor to the Owner / Operator.
xc2xb7 Actively participate in the EPC Contractors HSE processes of Commissioning and Startup hazard identification, including risk analysis, mitigation and the development of appropriate Commissioning and Start up Methodologies for his area.
xc2xb7 Participate in developing the Commissioning and Startup Schedules during the EPC work.
xc2xb7 Attend internal / external project reviews and other meetings as necessary.
xc2xb7 Develop and Produce Commissioning / Startup and Safety inputs / reports as required.
xc2xb7 Develop Spare part requirements for Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning purposes in his area.
xc2xb7 Asses the necessity for Vendor training and assist in the development of the Vendor training plan for all PMT / Operation / Maintenance personnel with the EPC Contractor training coordinator for his area.
xc2xb7 Assist in the development and execution of the overall training plan, contributing to the Company requirement that both Company and EPC Contractor complete the Operations training Program.
xc2xb7 Participate in detailed operator training where needed. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the training, while identifying potential weaknesses and propose overcoming them.
xc2xb7 Attend internal progress, Commissioning and Startup meetings as required with the EPC Contractor.
xc2xb7 Contribute to the Continuous risk analysis of the Commissioning and Startup works under the guidance and support of the Commissioning Manager.
xc2xb7 Review & advise: review & advise of specific Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning documents, related to his area. Advise in assigning respective review codes, follow up on other disciplines involved in the document review to ensure timely release of the review cycle. Verify CONTRACTORs resolution of all comments.
xc2xb7 Proactively follows up the national trainees in the unit and ensure their personal and technical knowledge development to the best interest for the individual and the company. Follow up the career plan and motivate the nationals in positions to ensure a high contribution.
Performance
xc2xb7 Competency: Deliver the Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning scope in the quality & efficiency expected form the role competencies, experience & technical skills in relation to his area.
xc2xb7 Productivity: Maintain the Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning deliverables as per the agreed schedule.
xc2xb7 Performance assessment: The two above parameters in addition to a set of individual KPIs will be assessed on regular frequency (mid-term review & final term review) the outcome shall be fed back to the individuals, clearly identifying areas of improvement (as applicable)
General
xc2xb7 Participate in regular meetings with discipline counterpart for timely discipline activity coordination & problems resolution as applicable.
xc2xb7 Communicate, after consulting the Commissioning Manager discipline specific updates/areas of concern on regular basis to the Operations SU Manager & to other disciplines within Project Management Team if required.
xc2xb7 Keep an overview on the Start Up sequence for his area, record & report on timely completion of the activities to the Commissioning Manager.
xc2xb7 Timely input into engineering leave planner & subsequent submittal of leave (after aligning a handover to a deputy during the leave period).
xc2xb7 Address technical conflicts & disputes with Counterpart (CONTRACTOR/Operations) in a professional & systematic manner, relevant to governing specifications/codes & actual situation.

xc2xb7 Implement approved Project policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Project work program in line with Company and International standards.
xc2xb7 Assists the Commissioning Manager to ensure that all personnel performing the Commissioning work in the Project has adequate qualification and complies with all relevant WORK practices and procedures.
xc2xb7 Analyses, with a team of experts, that possible deficiencies in Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning work are corrected in a structured manner and ensures continuous improvement.

xc2xb7 Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
xc2xb7 Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
xc2xb7 Ensure Quality Assurance Program is followed strictly at Construction, Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning stages without any deviation.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
xc2xb7 Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
MIS and Reports
xc2xb7 Provide input to reports and statements, including technical reports, related to the project area under his responsibility from a Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning perspective to meet Project requirements, policies and standards.

xc2xb7 Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or equal through experience
xc2xb7 Must be fluent in English language (Written & Spoken).
Experience & Knowledge & Skills
xc2xb7 Relevant and practical work experience.
xc2xb7 Petrochemical Experience
xc2xb7 Very good knowledge of Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning practices and workflows.
xc2xb7 Knowledge of relevant international standards.
xc2xb7 High degree of Computer Literacy with thorough experience of MS office, SAP and Project related Software.

xc3xbc Mostly fieldwork during which the jobholder is monitoring the works at the site ensuring the Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning practices and procedures are followed.

xc3xbc Office work while reviewing the documents, data sheets.
Work Environment
xc2xb7 SITE OFFICE:
xc3xbc Work within the PROJECT Site office in Ruwais in an air-conditioned office (Temporary site offices)
xc3xbc Frequently, exposed to the prevailing site weather and hazards in Construction Site/existing plant in Ruwais when attending the site.
xc3xbc As required, undertakes business trips to Borouges Offices in Abu Dhabi.
