Lathe Machine Operator
Job Description
A Lathe Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining lathe machines to produce precision metal parts and instruments. The operator reads blueprints or technical drawings, adjusts machine settings, and ensures high-quality output by inspecting finished products.
Set up and operate manual lathe machines.
Select the appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates.
Measure and inspect workpieces using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Adjust machine settings to produce parts to specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on lathe machines and troubleshoot minor issues.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Document production records and report any defects or deviations.
Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.
