About the Job:

As Landscaping Manager, you will be responsible to design and monitor the development of the landscape of the owned beach SBUs under Senior Director of Engineering for Madinat Jumeirah. You will providing technical insight and know-how for the development and maintenance of high-quality landscape in correlations to the requirements of the project and standards of Jumeirah.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Assess the landscaping needs of the capital projects and proceed to the introduction of the required solutions, i.e., plants, landscaping designs, landscaping maintenance solutions that will meet the project needs and comply with the standards of Jumeirah.

Ensure development and updating of "as built" drawings for all landscaped areas at each SBU.

Works closely with the SBUs and Directors of Engineering to provide input for the effective development of the project plan and budget regarding the development or refurbishment of the properties landscape.

Participate in the tender and selection of the most suitable vendors and subcontractors for the delivery of the landscape maintenance contract and landscaping projects while monitor and guide the external or internal resources for the delivery of the landscaping project.

Set the standards for the selection, placement, and maintenance of the plants to ensure that the landscape designed responds to the needs of the project, is in compliance with the environmental standards and promotes the brand image of Jumeirah.

Cooperate with the Engineering team for the selection of watering solutions that will meet the landscape maintenance needs and support the savings of natural resources.

Manage and support the overall plant health and soil nutrition strategies for all gardens under group asset management to include sustainable gardening practices and integrated pest management in the outdoor and indoor gardens

Defines the fertilisers, chemicals, and products to be used for the development of the landscape ensuring compliance with the HSE regulations.

Monitor and provide guidance for the accurate execution of the landscaping projects, assessing the work in progress against time plan and budget, identifying and reporting any area of consideration and propose solution to meet the project needs.

Supervise the work delivered by subcontractors and internal resources and ensures that these comply with quality standards, landscape design, irrigation systems, selection of plants and technical requirements of the project.

Establish and maintain high horticultural standards and practices; providing direction and training for the landscaping staff to ensure quality services is given as per the standard specifications.

Manage the day-to-day operations of the landscaping department providing guidance, encouraging teamwork, and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of operations.

Ensure compliance to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity so that Jumeirah Group provides world class and luxurious hospitality services to its guests.

Attend to and assist with adhoc projects as directed.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in agriculture or Landscaping.

At least 5 to years of experience in relevant field (preferably within the international hospitality industry).

Technical expertise in landscape planning and implementation.

Ability to interpret and assess blueprints and drawings and work orders.

Knowledge of landscape and construction techniques and practices.

Knowledge of handling chemical fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides. Very good command of speaking, reading, and writing English language.

Computer literacy and very good MS office skills.
